Larry Hama continues to try and push us past the Death of Snake Eyes story, though as one would imagine, an event like that tends to linger on in the hearts and minds of characters within the book and outside the book.
COBRA Rising is our next arc, and part two hits Wednesday, moving the story forward…check out the preview below.

A new SNAKE EYES brings revenge to COBRA’s doorstep!
Coil Con VI happened this past weekend, and thanks to Sam with the Nerdrahtio Podcast, he was allowed to reveal the first concept art for the upcoming Loyal Subjects VAMP w/ Clutch!
As if these newly designed figures weren’t cool enough, I really can’t believe the Loyal Subjects are also doing vehicles. Pretty awesome, and if the art is any indication, the VAMP will rock.
Check out the mirrored image below, and make sure you tune in to the Nerdrahtio Podcast for this and more G.I. Joe goodies.
I made a promise that this wouldn’t turn into my author page, and it won’t, trust me. Heck, I’ve already got one of those right here.
However, considering there are a number of folks who dig my G.I. Joe fiction and check out this page, and considering…well, I kinda own it and can do what I want… 🙂
Today, my new science fiction, action/adventure novel series Operation: Harvest kicks off with The Fog of Dreams. I’ve been working on this novel (and this entire universe) for probably almost ten years, and seeing it this close to culmination is almost like a dream come true. I honestly and completely believe that if you love G.I. Joe, there will be things about this novel that you love as well. There are many common themes between the two universes, as one might expect with my 30+ year fascination with A Real American Hero.
I won’t dwell on it, I won’t mention it every day, but I will talk about it from time to time, fair warning. If you’re interested, hit up the link below to pick it up on Amazon! The Kindle version is only $2.99 (you can read it for free with Kindle Unlimited!) and the paperback is $12.99. I have worked very hard and invested a lot of money into making it the best I could. Please give it a try.
Over in the G.I. Joe Discussion Group on Facebook, Jared has posted a few links to some videos on YouTube taking a peek at the Toy Fair events of years past, including the 90th Toy Fair from… 1993!
It is an amazing dance back in time as we see some great mid 90s G.I. Joe product, remember how damn prolific Playmates Toys was back then, and see a bunch of great toys that I have ZERO recollection of.
Seriously that TMNT vehicle that snags the Foot Soldier in the first few minutes is amazing. Why do I not know what that thing is?
Check out the video below as well as the Sgt. Savage presentation from 1994 and make sure to poke around that YouTube channel for some more good stuff.
First, I need to know, though… WHAT IS THIS AND WHY DON’T I HAVE IT?
I feel safe in saying one of the most anticipated G.I. Joe 50th Anniversary sets for 2015 is the “Silent Strike” set which is slated to come with a stealth Skystriker, a COBRA HISS with their new rail gun system, as well as some great figures including Captain Ace and Sightline himself.
As many will recall, Sightline is named after Gary “Goggles” Head, the mouthpiece of our tight knit G.I. Joe community who unfortunately passed away far too young several months ago.
Along with this, Ace and Sightline are members of the “Wolf Squad” Hasbro’s new (somewhat informal) team concept.
Fans are rampaging Toys “R” Us stores across the country looking for this set, but Big Bad Toy Store has your hook up right now. Click the link below and grab it…save yourself some gas and some trouble.
Somehow this summer, the coming of this year’s Coil Con snuck up on me. Hitting the mean streets of Dayton, Ohio on August 16th, the Midwest Coil Club always puts on a heck of a show.
This year they’ll be producing an exciting exclusive two pack for the event, featuring a very SUPER member of the G.I. Joe team. They just revealed him on their Facebook event page, and he’s pretty great.
Even if the exclusive figures aren’t your thing, there will be some great events this year from James Kavanaugh, Jr, the What’s on Joe Mind podcast, and an impressive array of dealers. Check out the full details below.
COIL Con 6 will be taking place on August 16 at the Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairfield , 2800 Presidential Drive, Dayton, OH 45324. We do have a block of rooms set aside for a special convention rate — if it fills, we can get more so long as there is availability. Con rates are available on the nights of August 14 and 15 (Friday/Saturday nights).
A Theater debut of the fan film: “Scales of Injustice.”
Admission is $5 at the door and G.I. Joe costumes get in free.
*Please note: Arriving soley in a camo shirt and/or camo pants will not be considered a costume unless you are active military nor will (but not limited to) “Character X” in civilian clothes or Chuckles in only a Hawaiian Shirt. Staff will not adhere to a strict policy but please do not try to take advantage of a special circumstance. Thanks.
August 15 will feature a group tour of the National Air Force Museum (http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/) at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton. Admission is always free at the museum.
Obviously, if you’re coming here, you’re a G.I. Joe fan as am I, and I believe you’re familiar with the fact that I’ve been writing G.I. Joe fiction.
Well, I’d like to take a moment to announce that next Tuesday my brand new novel will be released, and it’s my first piece of non-G.I. Joe fiction to be published! It’s the beginning of my own little universe, my own little crowded section of the publishing world.
And honestly, I think it’s something that G.I. Joe fans will really enjoy.
The paperback is available now, the Kindle version is open for pre-orders, ready for delivery August 11th (next Tuesday). I’m extremely excited about this (although admittedly, also nervous) and hope that anyone who is interested will give it a chance.
It will also be available via Kindle Unlimited next week.
I’ll try not to clog this feed with sales pitches for my non-G.I. Joe stuff, but I’ll warn everyone up front, it will get mentioned from time to time. Hopefully no one minds too much.

Wolf’s Head Publishing Debuts First Book Series – ‘Operation: Harvest’ | PRLog
Released for pre-order on August 1st, local publishing company announces the first novel from captivating new trilogy series.
PRLog – Aug. 6, 2015 – LEBANON, N.H. — Known as the “self-publishing revolution”, many smaller publishing companies are making their debut to the public and Wolf’s Head Publishing is no exception. Justin Bell is the owner of said company that was created as a launching point for his own series of thriller-based books.
“The basic premise is that anyone can become a small publisher. You call the shots. You retain the rights to your book and you take home a bigger royalty than you’d normally get from a traditional publisher – if you sell any books,” notes CNET’s David Carnoy in a recent article.
While the publishing business may be tedious for some, Bell has made it clear that he’s up for the challenge. After getting his start in writing for the G.I. Joe Universe for the Amazon Kindle Worlds platform (http://www.amazon.com/Justin-Bell/e/B00K3U3EE6), Bell’s own works have become one the most popular making the author one of the highest selling writers in that category.
His first novel in the upcoming “Operation: Harvest” trilogy is titled “The Fog of Dreams” and is classified as a “thriller and suspense genre” novel. The book boasts strong action and military elements. Bell’s novels in the “Operation: Harvest” trilogy feature genetic manipulation and conspiracy theory as overarching themes throughout the entire trilogy, as well as the strong bond between family; especially fathers and children.
“The main hero, William Strickland, is willing to do anything and everything to find his missing daughters, even if it means going up against the United States government themselves,” explains Bell. “I’ve dreamt of being a writer for my entire life, and couldn’t be more excited that the opportunity to realize that dream has finally arrived. I truly believe that the adventures will provide the same level of entertainment to the readers that they have been to the author for the past several years. On behalf of myself and Wolf’s Head Publishing as a whole, I can’t wait to get this story out to the world.”
The 332-page suspense novel is now available on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Fog-Dreams-Operation-Harvest-Book-e…) as of August 1st, 2015 for only $12.99, with its launch set for other digital book stores in the coming weeks. Kindle Unlimited subscribers can borrow the book for free as well. The novel is available both digitally or in print for customers. Bell is hoping that the birth of his own universe will provide stories and characters that will captivate readers for years to come.
About the company:
Founded in 2014, Wolf’s Head Publishing was created as the springboard for a new series of suspense and thriller novels. Originally developed as a self-publishing company for author Justin Bell’s works, the hope is for it to evolve into something larger. Its mission is to bring exciting action, superhero, and suspense novels to a growing reader base that is desperate for new entertainment.
The company’s owner and lead author, Justin Bell, has been writing for most of his life, with works in everything from fiction to technical education, news stories, and online blog and opinion posts. The story of William Strickland and Operation: Harvest is one he’s been “dying to tell for the past ten years” is newly released on Amazon.com.
For media inquiries regarding Wolf’s Head Publishing, individuals are encouraged to contact Owner and Author, Justin Bell directly at 603-252-5624 or via email at admin@wolfsheadpublishing.com. To learn more about the company or the novel, please visit: www.wolfsheadpublishing.com.
I’ve talked a little bit about the awesome looking new Loyal Subjects G.I. Joe product, and also mentioned they’re not just doing figures, but also vehicles. Well, we’ve got a great first look at one of those vehicles.
Over on Facebook, Johnathon Cathey from the Loyal Subjects showed off a first look at the FANG Gyro Copter!
Thanks to Diana Davis for directing me towards a cool little movie as well. Check out the video here.
Our first glimpse of these great looking new figures came via concept art from the New Jersey Collectors Con, and now the Kickstarter is officially live!
At the moment, we still just have that great Boss Fight Studio artwork to go by, but the folks at Marauder promise that they will be posting images of prototype figures and paint masters as the campaign goes on! You can bet we’ll be reporting on any new information as this progresses.
The Kickstarter fired off at just before midnight last night and as of this writing already has 43% of its main funding in the bag! WOW! That’s great news, too, because there are some amazing stretch goals here.
Check out the Marauder Task Force Valkyrie Kickstarter and throw them some support. If the first run of Marauder Task Force is any indication, these will be some great additions to your 1:18 scale action figure collection.
The wait is almost over, Joe fans, Ubisoft’s exciting new game Toy Soldiers: War Chest is almost here! Watch G.I. Joe and Cobra face off against those insidious men in furry shorts as well as Assassins Creed and other various licensed properties. We’ve showcased many of the videos here before, check them out below, and click the link afterwards for the full press release!
So who’s buying a Next Gen console for this thing?
