You’d think with the absolute flood of Rise of COBRA product that the staff of YoJoe would be locked in a corner strapped into a straight jacket crying themselves to sleep. Well, turns out they’ve at least got enough time to add some content to the site between sobs!
Check it out!

Love checking out that art…seeing that art makes me wonder if many of those are seeing retail release since they seem to be using package art? I’ll try not to get my hopes up too high upon seeing that Resolute Stalker in there… :shifty:
Thanks to Shin Densetsu of HissTank.com for the info.

by generalsjoes | Jul 15, 2009 | G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe: The Movie, Rise of COBRA Movie Reviews
Amongst the several people around the country who apparently saw an advance screening of G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA, Steve ‘Frosty’ Weintraub from renowned movie site, Collider.com got some time in a theater seat and shared his thoughts here.
According to Weintraub, this film is like a cartoon come to life, only with more action. How can you go wrong. In fact, you could almost say he raves about the film, with quotes like “The action scenes are really well done and there are a lot of them. While some expensive action films make it impossible to follow what’s going on, “G.I. Joe” is easy to follow. I never lost track of who was where or what they were doing. This is in stark contrast to a film like “Quantum of Solace” which was all over the place. That opening car chase looked like it was shot and edited by Stevie Wonder. By contrast, you always know what’s happening in “G.I. Joe””.
He goes on to say “The movie is cheesy but fun. Yeah, the dialogue is corny and everyone was either a good or a bad guy, but that’s the cartoon. Also, it never went for the really cheap joke or any bathroom humor. Sorry Bay, but you could learn from Stephen Sommers on this one.”
Awesome. Freaking awesome. This is exactly what I’ve been hoping to hear, and so far, the reviews are 4 for 4 what I’ve been expecting and hoping for all along. To read the full review, click here, or check out the “Full Story” link below. I’m really fired up over this early response!

Times Online posts a short article in regards to the upcoming film, mostly concentrating on the science side of things, but the most interesting thing is a video from DailyMotion.com that seems to possibly be some viral marketing in regards to the G.I. Joe film. It involves someone in what looks like an Accelerator Suit skateboarding, then leaping into the air and grabbing a familiar black helicopter, that looks to be the same copter seen on the beach.
Am I off target? It’s kind of tough to tell, and there’s no obvious indication. Check it out for yourself below.

HASBRO ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF INSIGHT: A SPECIAL EDITION BOOK FEATURING THE IMAGES OF ARTIST AND ACTION FIGURE PHOTOGRAPHER GIANNI LOPERGOLO
Sales Of Book Featuring Images Of G.I. JOE, MARVEL and STAR WARS Action Figures To Benefit ALS Foundations And Family Of Innovative Artist And Hasbro Employee Battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease
Pawtucket, RI – July 15, 2009 – Hasbro, Inc. and friends of Gianni Lopergolo, a Hasbro employee living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, are introducing Insight:, a book of Mr. Lopergolo’s stunning and unique photography of Hasbro’s G.I. JOE, MARVEL and STAR WARS action figures.
Spanning Mr. Lopergolo’s eight year career at Hasbro, the book features over 90 images of action figures posed and photographed at Hasbro’s internal creative studios. Using simple props and a creative use of lighting and imagination, Mr. Lopergolo revolutionized how the toy maker photographs its beloved action figures. He captures in his photography a tangible world of fantasy and adventure, portraying scenes evocative of childhood imagination where action figures become real characters. His images reach deep into the human psyche, extracting the wonderment and imagination inherent to children lost in a world of play. His ability to portray the essence of this wonderment transcends simple product images and elevated the photography of action figures featured on packaging to a true art form. This one of a kind collection includes such well known characters as DUKE, BARONESS and COBRA COMMANDER from Hasbro’s G.I. JOE brand as well as CAPTAIN AMERICA and SPIDER-MAN from its MARVEL line and LUKE SKYWALKER and DARTH VADER action figures from its STAR WARS line.
