Oh, yeah, the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Amazon Exclusive pack figures revealed, too

To a resounding…  “bleh”.  Yeah, unfortunately very much unlike the G.I. Joe: Renegades 4-Pack, I find myself very unimpressed with the Retaliation one.  Destro from HissTank.com also posted that image, and it just looks like essentially the same figures that are in wave 1, with the addition of the variant “Black” Cobra Commander which many folks hypothesized would be in this set.  Pretty boring.  I don’t even see many differences deco-wise.

Check out the mirrored image below.

Image reveals product within the Amazon.com G.I. Joe: Renegades 4-Pack

Thanks to Destro from HissTank.com for posting an image that reveals some details about the Amazon Exclusive G.I. Joe: Renegades 4-Pack story we broke early this week.  This single image is truly fascinating.  Check it out below:

Uhhh WOW.

Yeah, these are not straight-up repaints of figures we got already.  That right there looks like at least some new tooling.  Duke is obviously the same with the addition of recolored Cobra Trooper legs (don’t know how I feel about that).  But Storm Shadow is considerably different.  The head sculpt looks more animated, the proportions of the arms (not to mention the sleeveless look) are certainly different.  Very, very interesting.  Snake Eyes is a little tough to tell, though the feet at least look different.

And is it just me, or are there some different hip joints going on there?

Plus, look at the feet.  The sculpt there looks exaggerated, too.  Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m seriously wondering if these were some of the “animated” style figures we’d heard about before the outcry moved us back to the more realistic style.  Very interesting.  I just went from pretty excited to absolutely ecstatic.  Here’s hoping we get to see some of these figures in more detail soon, this is just aching to be dissected.

Fantastic.

UPDATE – As commentor Plokoon5 points out as well, it looks like Duke has G.I. Joe: Renegades Law’s hands instead of his original hands, which is a significant improvement to the figure as well.  It took one of the glaring flaws in that figure and improved it 100%.  Good observation.

San Diego ComicCon Exclusive Constructicon B.A.T. and Destro in hand images

It’s been a busy week for Gyre-Viper, and he’s not letting up, even on a Friday!

Over on JoeDeclassified.com he has posted images of the upcoming San Diego ComicCon exclusive Constructicon B.A.T. and Destro, the driver of the upcoming Shockwave HISS tank!  The HISS itself (initially revealed at Toy Fair, but not shown in the images below) looks like a very cool and fun variation of the regular Retaliation HISS Tank, and the two figures slated to come with it look like a lot of fun.

The B.A.T. has the color scheme from the Constructicons, which is an awesome touch.  Destro himself is a repaint of the City Strike Destro tweaked looking City Strike Destro using PoC Dusty and Techno-Viper parts, and just looks like an awesome figure.  Check out the mirrored images below and a huge thanks to Gyre-Viper for the heads up!

I mean, look at that.  IT’S SO GREEN.  And SO PURPLE.  GREEN AND PURPLE.

Another G.I. Joe: Retaliation character poster… with a twist?

Thanks to The Terror Drome for uncovering this, but apparently JoBlo.com (who was initially supposed to reveal the Lady Jaye character poster) has now revealed a different Lady Jaye character poster than we saw previously.

At this point it’s unknown exactly why the poster is changed, other than perhaps a result of the leak via the foreign site that revealed them all on the early side today.  Regardless, check out the mirrored image in the gallery below, or hit up JoeBlo.com!

G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club unveils the first G.I. Joe Convention exclusive!

And it’s a beauty as we’ve come to expect!  Check out GIJoeCon.com to see for yourself…

Oktober Guard’s resident sniper…  Daina!

It was somewhat of a no-brainer that she would be the first figure reveal with the box art and the comic page already shown, but seeing the figure in the “flesh” so to speak is always the best feeling!  And this figure does NOT disappoint!  Wow, a totally new head sculpt and new “tanker’s cowl”.  That camouflage pattern is absolutely amazing.

Beautiful figure.  Check out the mirrored image below.

G.I. Joe Convention website to reveal first Convention figure today!

Good GRIEF.

As if the barrage of G.I. Joe: Retaliation character posters wasn’t enough, now via their GIJoeCon Twitter Account, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has announced that they will begin revealing convention figures at noon (Pacific time) TODAY.

Hit up GIJoeCon.com and sit there for the next 40 minutes like I plan to and buckle your seat belts.

This sure as hell is looking like the summer of G.I. Joe!

Last, but not least, the full collection of G.I. Joe: Retaliation character posters

Okay, I think we’ve got ’em all now!

As of this moment, we have posters for all mentioned G.I. Joe: Retaliation characters, to include:

  • Joe Colton
  • Roadblock
  • Duke
  • Lady Jaye
  • Snake Eyes
  • Jinx
  • Cobra Commander
  • Storm Shadow

Several different film sites around the web broadcasted these images, though I’ll be honest, it was a bit tough tracking them all.  They seem to kind of scatter like the wind and they weren’t all found where they were supposed to be found!  I know that there were sites that were supposed to debut these, which got trumped a bit by StarkIndustries.ru, which is a bit of a shame, but expect much better quality images as the day goes on.

For now, check out the full and complete gallery below.

Watch this space! G.I. Joe: Retaliation posters are hitting the web!

IGN.com had the first blast, showcasing Bruce Willis as Joe Colton, and promising many more posters across various websites throughout the day.   According to IGN, this is the schedule of poster releases:

I will update as more posters are available.  Something tells me the next week could really be abuzz with G.I. Joe: Retaliation news and info…  you’ll have to just trust me on that one. 😉
