"Fun with Mechs" – Werecat's Steel Marauder Squad

When it comes to Mechs and the G.I. Joe universe, I would imagine most folks are either for them or against them.  Either you can accept them into your current universe, or they are simply too futuristic and science fiction for you.
Well, I think it’s safe to say Werecat of JoeSightings and JoeBattleLines accepts them.  In fact, using the Steel Marauder as well as the awesome Sigma 6 Iron Hammer, he has built a squad of mechs, each utilizing some different weaponry with some different specialties.  There are some really awesome combinations here!
Check out the original thread on JoeBattleLines, and I’ve also mirrored some images below.  I loved the Mechs anyway, but seeing this squad of them makes them even cooler…some great ideas here.

More great Alexx Shorts – Pursuit of Cobra coolness

Over at JoeBattleLines, Alexx continues to pump out the “Alexx Shorts” which are quickly becoming less short and more full-fledged reviews.  He’s started diving more headlong into the Pursuit of Cobra stuff, which I’m psyched to see.  Below I’m mirroring some of his great images with links to the reviews themselves on JBL.  Some very cool stuff.

Pursuit of Cobra Storm Shadow

I gotta say that Pursuit of Cobra Storm Shadow is really growing on me.  He was one of the weak links when I first saw him, and to an extent, I suppose he still is, but I find myself really drawn towards the middle eastern design of his uniform, and those weapons are sick.  I’ve got one in the wings, prepping to review it, I find myself really looking forward to doing it now, more than I was previously.

GIJoe.com revamped for the Pursuit of Cobra

Further casting aside the shackles of Hollywood tie-ins, GIJoe.com has undergone a total remodel to reflect the current theme for The Pursuit of Cobra!  With a much cooler blue color pallet, a new Cobra Commander wallpaper, links to the latest Operation: HISS webisodes, and some awesome images, we can now consider ourselves full into Pursuit of Cobra mode.
For some it’ll be a very welcome shift.  While I loved much of what the Rise of Cobra toyline had to offer, I’m also eager to step forward into the amazing Pursuit of Cobra line, and really love the look of the site.
Check it out right here!

Another ten minute video figure review – Pursuit of Cobra galore!

Frequent GeneralsJoes contributor (a feat for which I am endlessly grateful) cmderinchief has posted yet another video review!  Not content to cover just one item, though, he does a quick review of the TRU Exclusive Spirit, Quick Kick, the Pursuit of Cobra Duke & Snow Job, and also manages to say some words about the Canadian JoeCon convention sets!
Wow.  Check out all the Gary Goodness right below.

GeneralsJoes Reviews Rise of Cobra TRU Doc and Shipwreck

It seems only appropriate as August 1st looms tomorrow, and I’ve officially lived out my promise for one review per day until the “official” Pursuit of Cobra launch, that I do a review of two figures that were walking the line between Cobra “Rising” and the  Joes “Pursuing”.
While the fifth wave of single pack figures for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra officially kicked off the whole “pursuit” theme, both Doc and Shipwreck from the Toys “R” Us Headquarters for Heroes subline carried that torch as well.  Both sporting “Arctic Assault” tags on their packaging, and both quite obviously designed to chase Destro through the snow and ice.
So as these figures bridged that gap between The Rise of Cobra and the Pursuit of Cobra, I figure it’s apt that I use them to bridge the gap here as well.
Gap?  Did I say gap?  Yeah, right.  I’ve currently got about 125 images taken for upcoming Pursuit of Cobra product already, and while I certainly cannot promise the one review per day quota will continue to be met past August 1st, you have no worries, reviews will still be coming fast and furious.  I’ve got both new Mechs in the wings as well as the two Wave 1 Alpha vehicles, and I still hope to finish off the Wave 1 Single Packs before too long.
The things I do for you people.
Anyway.  Hit up the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Review Page or just check out the Doc and Shipwreck reviews directly.  Enjoy.
