This morning brings us even more exciting video from the production of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, this time in the form of a 14 minute long behind the scenes video. Mingled among this video is plenty of scenes from the film itself. I would warn against watching this too much for folks who are avoiding spoilers, but for folks like me who are just sucking these things up, it’s a pretty excellent 14 minute experience.
Thanks to chorvacommander of HissTank.com for digging this up. Check it out on YouTube or embedded below.

Chu and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner. Written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe® characters.
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION has been rated PG-13 for language, intense sequences of combat violence, brief sensuality and martial arts action.

The hits just keep on coming… these aren’t TV Spots or trailers, they look to be Celebs.com interviews with the G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars, including everyone from Ray Stevenson to Elodie Yung, Dwayne Johnson, DJ Cotrona, and Adrianne Palicki.
There doesn’t appear to be much new actual film footage in these interviews, but the interviews themselves are still very enlightening, but keep in mind some movie spoilers might be contained. Click the Read the Rest of the Story link below to check them all out. Thanks to Skinny from SerpentorsLair.org for the keen eye.
Another character vignette has made its way online, courtesy of what appears to be a foreign YouTube channel. It’s a great minute long look at the Lady Jaye character with some great new footage featuring Lady Jaye herself and our first really good look at Agent Mouse!
Check it out embedded below. Thanks to Skinny from SerpentorsLair for the info.
I just posted the link to Mike Ryan’s article saying that no real reviews have gone up yet, but then bam! We suddenly have a few reviews. I have posted some links below to check out these reviews, although keep in mind, there are some spoilers throughout. I have put the review scores in parentheses next to the link so folks can get an idea of the response without actually risking spoilers.
Reaction so far, among these critics, remains mostly positive. It will be very interesting to keep watch on this as the next few days go on, as more and more reviews from various advanced screenings start getting posted.
There is a RottenTomatos spot for G.I. Joe: Retaliation as well, with the above three reviews linked to it, but not enough to yet build a “consensus”. That should change over the next few days!
While we don’t appear to have any mainstream reviews of G.I. Joe: Retaliation yet, we’ve seen some quick-hit response from Larry Hama on Facebook, and now Mike Ryan, Senior Entertainment Writer for the Huffington Post has put his .02 out there as well.
In all fairness, I need to mention that Mike Ryan is a G.I. Joe nerd, and is specifically a Larry Hama comic fan, so he’s “in the trenches” with us so to speak. He’s not a true outside person reviewing the film on its merits alone. But he has some really great perspective and I truly hope his reaction matches the reactions of many other people who go see the film.
