Discount G.I. Joe figures reportedly found at a United States Dollar General

Granted, no images have surfaced yet, but over on JoeCustoms.com, Stormtrooper53 is reporting that he has found Snake Eyes and Cobra Trooper at his local Dollar General store today!  I am inclined to believe him, even without the images.

You can see the report in this thread, I suspect it’s just a matter of time before more sightings start emerging.

Gentlemen (and ladies) start your engines!

Thanks to Billah Killcarr for the information.

Win some free G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures from Kokomo Toys!

So, Kokomo Toys has their G.I. Joe: Retaliation pre-orders going strong, and in celebration they passed along some to me to give away!  I have a Snake Eyes, Roadblock, and Storm Shadow single pack MOC figures ready to go to someone’s lucky home.

How do you win?

Simple.  The first figure will be available to whoever comments on this thread with the correct guess for whichever figure is going to be revealed by the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club next.  We figure today the GIJCC will likely be revealing the next JoeCon figure… who do you think it will be?

Comment on this post with your guess, and the correct guesses will go in a hat, with the lucky pick getting one free figure.  Then we’ll try the same trick tomorrow and see how things go.

Good luck!

JoeCustoms.com is ten years old today!

And they’re throwing a party!

JoeCustoms initially entered the online G.I. Joe community as the Bivouac over 10 years ago, but the official movement to “JoeCustoms.com” was 10 years ago and they’ve never looked back.  P-Luv has started a thread over on JoeCustoms to discuss its awesome 10 year history, and probably the coolest part of this whole celebration is a conversation with camper and Beav, two past admins for the site.  Camper was the guy who started the whole thing way back when, and Beav was running the show himself for many years until P-Luv recently took over.

Without a doubt the site that spearheaded the G.I. Joe customizing community this is an awesome look at the past 10 years, plus there are some chances to win some good prizes as well.

Win extra cash at the G.I. Joe Convention Diorama Contest!

So every year the G.I. Joe Collectors Club holds a diorama contest, and from what we know, this year should be no different.

But what is different is that Todd from Kokomo Toys is sweetening the pot a little bit.  If you’re planning on building a diorama for the Convention, consider adding a reference to Kokomo Toys somewhere within the diorama.

Todd will be checking out the dioramas at the Con, and if your diorama contest entry has something to do with Kokomo Toys or has the shop in it, he’ll give you either $100.00 for a first place prize and $50.00 for a second place prize, right on the spot!

If that’s not some great incentive, I don’t know what is.  Big thanks to Todd from Kokomo Toys for coming up with this idea. A great one!

Kick Ass Custom and Diorama – NJCC Hazard Tank and Compound Z Lab!

This past weekend the always entertaining NJCC (New Jersey Collectors’ Con) tore up New Jersey, and just like last year, the immortal Kevin Watts provided door prizes in the form of modified HISS Tanks.  This year, they focused on tanks for the 30th Anniversary Hazard Vipers, and they came out very nicely.

But as cool as the HAZARD Tanks are, this is where Kevin really knocked it out of the park.  As part of the show, Kevin build a diorama for the Compound Z Lab.  Using existing G.I. Joe playset parts, he assembled a very professional looking lab that fits the theme perfectly.

Check out the thread on HissTank.com and I’ve also mirrored a few images below.  Kevin does some fantastic work, I’m one of his biggest fans, and I think this is an example of some of the great stuff he can do.  Bad enough his customs are tearing it up, now he’s gotta depress me with his awesome diorama work, too.  Ah, well…
