Clip with never before seen footage from G.I. Joe: Retaliation ninja battle on Break.com!!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, the four minute sequence from G.I. Joe: Retaliation that we’ve heard about should be showing before Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.  Now Break.com has a 90 second preview of that…  four… minute preview.

Heh.

Yes, this is a shorter preview advertising a longer preview, but c’mon!!!  IT’s FRIGGEN SNAKE EYES vs. STORM SHADOW.  Check it out at Break.com or embedded below.  Now I want to go watch Jeremy Renner this weekend.

Break Exclusive: New G.I. Joe Has Amazing Ninjas – Watch More Funny Videos

Mammoth 71st episode of What’s on Joe Mind is now online

Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve posted an episode of What’s on Joe Mind, but hopefully we’ve made up for it with the length of this one!  Clocking in at just over three hours, there’s enough G.I. Joe conversation here to keep any Joe fan satisfied.

We talk to legendary toy expert Mark Bellomo and winner of the What’s on Joe Mind Fantasy Football league (and operator of the awesome GIJoeGraphy site) Dan Uthman.

Check out the episode on our Podbean page, or via the embedded players below.  Make sure to click the Read the Rest of the Story link to read the show notes.

The next 2013 G.I. Joe Convention Exclusive revealed – Night Force Charbroil!

And this just might be a figure that is better than his previous version.  Far, far better.

Charbroil was always somewhat of a second rate Blowtorch in my opinion, and even though his Night Force version did add some nice credibility to the character (I really hated the brown, yellow, and silver look) he still wasn’t really high on my list of knock out characters.  Of course, appearing in the same assortment as Hit & Run, one might expect he got a little overshadowed.

The Collectors Club has revealed their version of Night Force Charbroil now, and it is pretty nice.  Using what appears to be the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Joe Trooper body from neck to toe (which I have ZERO issues with, as demonstrated by my Best Toys of 2012 article), he’s got a newly tooled helmet and backpack and even without a ton of detail work, the figure looks really nice.  Love the combination of gray and blue here.

Preview for IDW Publishing COBRA #21

This Wednesday wraps up the latest iteration of IDW’s Cobra series, set to relaunch next month with “The Cobra Files” starting back at issue #1.  From all accounts the format is remaining consistent with what we’ve been reading for the past several years, but with the renumbering of other titles, they’re doing the same with Cobra.

Check out the preview for issue #21 below.

GIJoeCon.com debuts first look at 2013 G.I. Joe Convention Exclusives!

Well what do you know?

The brochure has just barely hit mailboxes, and we have our first look at the 2013 G.I. Joe Convention Exclusives.  And…well… wow.  So far, so friggen GOOD.

GIJoeCon.com has fired up their Convention Exclusives section and we now have a look at Cobra Mortal, Cobra Letal, and the Frag-Viper!  All I can say is hoooooly wow.  They NAILED that Frag-Viper.  Absolutely nailed it.  The most amazing thing that I can see is that apparently the Collectors’ Club is getting access to some state of the art tooling here!

Check out that Frag-Viper and Letal.  Eagle-eyed collectors will not that they use the body of the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation Wave 4 “Ultimate” Snake Eyes!  The texture on the chest, and the body suit itself is a dead give away.  Wow…this is pretty unprecedented for the Club to have access to this tooling so quickly.  Kudos to them and to Hasbro for making this happen.

In another nice touch, while the Club is revisiting the Cobra Mortal character, they elected to go with the only recently revealed “White Mortal” an extremely rare collectible that makes for one heck of a nice homage.

Take a peek at these incredible images on GIJoeCon.com, and I’ve mirrored them below as well.

IDW Solicitations for G.I. Joe titles in April, 2013 – New stuff ahoy!

From the looks of the solicitation list, April is going to be the first gung ho month of the IDW G.I. Joe revamp, with all three titles hitting in that particular month.  Tons of exclusive covers, lots happening in every title.  Not to mention the Hama Real American Hero title is bringing in some very familiar faces.

We get some background into Duke’s history this month, and it occurs to me that this is something that was lacking a bit in the mainstream G.I. Joe title previously.  Sure, we got quite a bit of backstory for the team itself, but do we even really know who these people are?  Why should we care about them?  What are their motivations?  I’m looking forward to seeing a little bit more depth to these characters.  Maybe a smaller cast of characters will help drive that.

Click the Read the Rest of the Story link below to read the full solicitation list.
