What’s on Joe Mind Episode 73 HALO drops onto the Internet airwaves

Wow, nothing like a terrible pun to liven your Monday work day, huh?

So what’s with the HALO drop joke?  Only the fact that Episode 73 of What’s on Joe Mind features an interview with the indelible Khary Payton, the voice of Ripcord from G.I. Joe: Renegades!  Fans of quality animation will probably also recognize him as being the voice of Aqualad from the excellent Young Justice animated series as well.  I may have fanboyed over him a bit about that.  Keep in mind this interview was done a few months ago, before news of Young Justice’s cancellation broke, so this was a topic we did not bring up.

We also have the full audio from Hasbro’s G.I. Joe presentation at Toy Fair!  You’ll feel like you were sitting right in the auditorium, especially as Gary has a stroke when he sees the Kre-On Snow Job.  Check out this latest episode on our Podbean page, or also embedded below.  As always, the show notes are after the jump.

Storm Shadow shines in new G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer and TV Spot

Appearing on YouTube, two more International G.I. Joe: Retaliation promotional items have come to light thanks to Paramount International’s YouTube Channel.  One of them being a full trailer, and the other being a shorter TV spot.  There is a little bit of new footage in each, mostly focused on Lee Byung-Hun who is a superstar in Asia.

The most highlights are in the full trailer itself, which you can see directly below.  The shorter, more compressed TV spot is at the bottom.  I love the short added scene of Storm Shadow scraping his sword over the desk during the UN sequence.  Pretty cool stuff.

39 days until release!  Bring it on!

GeneralsJoes Reviews G.I. Joe: Retaliation Cobra Cyber Ninja

With every image I saw of this guy I grew less and less impressed with him.  A sub-standard rehash of the 25th Anniversary Wraith?  Yeah, no thanks.

Well, color me surprised, once I got the figure in hand.  The tooling works together a lot better than I initially suspected, the new head sculpt is great, and the paint deco is surprisingly effective.  The mixture of dark, thick paint wipes and bright blue piping makes a great impression in person.

40 days to G.I. Joe: Retaliation and 40 reasons to look forward to it!

Forty seems like a big number, until you realize just what kind of roller coaster G.I. Joe fans have been on over the past nine months with the impending release of the film, and then the sudden rescheduling.  Over on Twitter, GeneralsJoes pal Twitziller has begun a massive “40 reasons G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great” campaign and he has graciously allowed me to mirror those thoughts on GeneralsJoes as well.

With the film making it’s big debut on March 29th, I’m looking for as many reasons as possible to talk about it, and I think he’s got some great thoughts.

Without further ado…  Forty Reasons why G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great!

#40:

With the new G.I. More concept art bubbles to the surface for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra video game

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is the gift that keeps on giving.  Even if you didn’t like the game a whole lot, it has offered a wealth of great concept art to enjoy.  Friend of the site notpicard has come across another slate of concept art from Darran Hurlbut, which features some characters and some environments seen in the game.  Big thanks to him for passing the info along.

Check it out at DarranArt.Blogspot.com or I’ve also mirrored images below.
