Apparently Paramount was not satisfied to simply reveal video today, they also wanted to blast out a few promotional images as well. We get great high quality pictures of the White House, Storm Shadow, and Cobra Commander flanked by his troops. More coolness from Paramount and G.I. Joe today! We originally saw this featurette recording from a smart phone camera as it aired on WWE Raw, but now IMDB has the video in HD quality, and it is awesome. Yes, the same footage, yes the same music, but with some added behind the scenes stuff, this is a really great look at the film.
Between the character vignettes, the TV spots, and now this… wow. G.I. Joe: Retaliation video overload. Unfortunately the video is not embeddable (yet), but check it out at IMDB.com.

Ha! I was just on Twitter talking back and forth with nailbiter111 from Comic Book Movie, and said that the only possible video vignette there was left to do would be one for Jinx. Then, all of a sudden, there it was. Paramount International has loaded up on video today. Check out Jinx below!
The formula remains similar… scattered new footage, lots of re-used footage… a whole metric ton of AWESOME.
Almost seems like Paramount and Twitziller were on the same page today. Both chose to focus on Firefly today, and the effect is similar. Paramount’s 19 second vignette shows off some great new footage, and some spoken word as well… is it just me or does that first “Firefly….” sound like it might just be Cobra Commander speaking?
We see streams of rocket fire, nasty explosions, and Firefly “making things go boom”. Who can complain? Check it out embedded below!
It’s quick and dirty, but I geeked out so hard over the Cobra Commander vignette that I had to do some quick screen grabs just to relish the awesomeness that is the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Cobra Commander. LOOK AT HIM. As an added bonus, note that Firefly apparently helps Storm Shadow free Cobra Commander. You can see him running around in one of the images below.

How fitting as we prepare to launch into March Madness, the “Sweet 16” ends up being how many days we now have left until G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and today marks the 16th reason why the film will rock. Twitziller continues on a roll today and puts his crosshairs firmly on a central Cobra character!

Firefly is one of those characters that appeals to a lot of people. At one time considered the “Boba Fett” of the G.I. Joe universe, he was a highly paid and capable freelancer who was a man of sheer mystery. A consummate professional who did his job, then slunk back to the shadows, his early history revealed him to be someone dangerously protective about his identity. Over time, he lost some of his air of mystery, revealed to be a member of the Arashikage clan, much to the Joe fandom’s dismay. In G.I. Joe: Retaliation he has a chance to rebuild some of the rich character elements that so many fans latched on to.
Obviously he has spent a lot of time throughout the trailers completely unmasked, so he doesn’t appear quite so protective of his face, but his personality has also shone through in a big way. Discarding urban camouflage for what looks to be an Alligator skin coat, this bayou operative brings the term “swampfighter” to a whole new level. As Twitziller says, it’s these individuals who really make up the essence of Cobra’s dynamic. I’m looking forward to seeing how Firefly evolves throughout this film.
