Reminder – JoeCon 2009 in Kansas City this week! Coverage starts tomorrow night!

Hot on the heels of San Diego ComicCon, the Interntional G.I. Joe Collectors’ Convention kicks off tomorrow night in Kansas City!  GeneralsJoes and JoeBattleLines have guys on the ground and in the air towards KC as we speak, so expect some great coverage of the event as it happens.  We will also be working with our buds over at The Terror Drome as well, and I’ll be putting in extra hours and late night work as well to make sure the Joe community is as informed as possible.  As long as the wife doesn’t go into labor, of course…  :shifty:

While we got a great look at a lot of product for 2009 at SDCC, we should get our first glimpse at 2010 stuff at JoeCon, and from what I hear, there is some AWESOME stuff coming.  Rise of COBRA fans and old school Joe fans have a lot to look forward to, to be sure.

Can’t wait!

Interesting sale at Wal-Mart.com for Rise of COBRA product

snakeeyes_nightcreeperThanks to the Terror Drome for pointing out an interesting sale where you can purchase selective various Rise of COBRA product and receive free bonuses depending on what you pick out.  A lot of items come with a Wal-Mart Gift Card, but some also come with a bonus comic!  Like the Amazon.com sale, this sale looks like it comes with a bonus comic that never came out with one of the cancelled Comic Packs, this time the Snake Eyes vs. Night Creeper one.

Check out the Wal-Mart.com GI Joe shop here, and find a way to get that comic!

Why isn’t anyone talking about the SDCC Sketchbook??

Perhaps I missed the conversation somewhere, but I just received this year’s San Diego ComicCon Design Sketchbook in the mail, and holy crap!  There is some awesome stuff in here. There’s a fair share of Anniversary design sketches, but what’s really got me is the cool stuff that was either unused concepts or potential future stuff. I scanned a couple of pages below with what appear to be some very cool designs for Flint, Zarana, Storm Shadow, and a couple of other items that are unknown.

I especially LOVE that Storm Shadow.  A spiffy new design that builds very nicely from the original look, yet looks current, too.  Absolutely awesome!  Check out just a small sample of the images below…there’s lots more in the book, too, from many of Hasbro’s different brands.

Hopefully Hasbro will have this thing up for sale somewhere down the line.  I haven’t seen it on HTS yet, but hopefully it’ll be out there.  I love this stuff.

I gotta say, those look pretty cool.  I’m really loving the yellow COBRA sigil with the snakeskin lid.  Very unique!
