Well that’s a fine how do you do this wonderful Sunday afternoon! Come on, Collectors Club, I was just turning on Football! 🙂
The G.I. Joe Collectors Club has surprised us today with the release of the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention Brochure. Included in this brochure are the first details of the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention Exclusives set!
And holy wow, we have a good one here, folks. We have the Eco Warriors and Zombie Hunters versus Cobra’s own Eco Force, including some much desired Zombie soldiers!
According to the brochure, this is what we have to look forward to this year:
COBRA forces have acquired the “Compound Z” formula and have started testing it on their own soldiers. They believe by creating zombie warriors they can rule the World and turn its population into mindless creatures. G.I. JOE headquarters is split on how to handle the zombie affliction: save or eradicate?
GENERAL HAWK has formed two groups to solve this deadly problem. Who will be successful? Will it be the Zombie Hunters whose mission is to eradicate those infected or
will it be the E.C.O. (Emergency Chemical Operations) Force trying to rescue and find an antidote for those afflicted? And, what about the team members who become zombies, are they a casualty of war? If too many are turned, who will be left to complete their mission? Only time will tell and it’s running out!
The 2014 G.I. JOE vs. COBRA convention set contains highly requested teams and some new additions available for the first time in the modern era 25A action figure style. This special edition set includes:
Cobra Lab-Rats x 2, Toxo-Vipers x 3, Toxo-Zombies x 3, and Repulsor with Dawg (NEW K-9).
Each of these great teams comes with classic weapons, accessories, figure stands and file cards in this exciting fifteen figure boxed set.
Uhhh…let me be the first to say… HOLY WOW. That’s a lot of crazy coolness all in one convention set right there. You gotta think there will be some awesome use of 30th Anniversary parts in there, especially Airtight for the E.C.O. Force. But man… Outback and TJbang?! Zombie Hunters battling against the E.C.O. Force in their race to kill or heal? Some very awesome potential paradigms here, and I am freaking thrilled!! Cannot wait to start hearing and seeing more about this fun sounding set!
Check out the Brochure on GIJoeCon.com and hopefully we’ll start seeing some images soon.
EDIT – Shame on me for not mentioning the 12″ set… see those details below:

OH SHOOT. Yes, you read that right. The 12″ set apparently comes with an exclusive 3 3/4″ Joe Colton figure as well. Ohhhh boy.
With the information yesterday that the 2013 G.I. Joe Convention will feature a paradrop with a Kre-O KreOn figure, and not a traditional G.I. Joe figure, some folks figured that meant there would be a convention exclusive Kre-On figure used.
Need to plan your convention experience? Well, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has just made it a whole lot easier. They’ve posted the schedule for the 2013 G.I. Joe Convention right here. Featuring a lot of the great panels you’ve come to expect from Hasbro, the voice actors, Larry Hama and Kirk Bozigian, this year they’ve also branched out some.
Dave Tree is travelling over from the UK to do a Palitoy Action Force seminar and there’s What’s on Joe Mind Live–…
Wait. What?
Dammit Godsoe, you never tell me anything!

Continuing the GeneralsJoes “G.I. Joe Kre-O Week” we have just one review today, featuring the Cobra Armored Assault set. I suspect that most fans, myself included, picked up this set primarily for Flint, but they may find some other things to love here, too. Check it out at my Kre-O Review Page, or the direct link below.
In celebration of episode #52, we offered listeners a chance to call in and talk with us directly about their burning G.I. Joe issues, and the response was incredible. We all had a blast doing it, so we figured to celebrate our diamond anniversary of episode #75 we’d do it again. I think we’re all glad we did. It was a raucus, “from the hip” whirlwind where we eschewed news and current events and just leaped into talking with YOU, our listeners. Joined by good friend Erik Arana, who provides some great insight into our hobby and the toy industry in general.
Because there wasn’t much in the way of news or intel, the show notes are just below. You can find the episode on Podbean, or via the embedded players below.
It’s our second ever listener call in show! We put the news, email, and Twitter on hold and take your calls and answer your questions! Show friend, Erik Arana hangs out with us and gives us a unique perspective on our hobby. If you don’t know who Erik is, you need to listen in! Special appearances by WOJM contributors Eduardo M Freyre (with a lemon twist), Ryan Costello, Jr. WOJM Twitter laureate, Twitziller, Noted Author, James Kavanaugh, Jr. and Numbers from Ages 25 and Up. It’s a festive, from the hip episode where the only thing that matters is taking your calls…and making fun of Chuck. Enjoy!
Now this is just too cool. Jim Sorenson dropped me a line to let me know that his partner in crime on the G.I. Joe Field Manual(s) Bill Forster has launched Cobra Commander into space, and recorded the event for prosperity.
Check out Jim’s post on Disciples of Boltax with Bill’s first hand account. And of course, we gotta hit up the YouTube video below. Hopefully he didn’t bring any Lunartix back with him…
