G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie clip posted to MSN Movies

Looks like Iron Man fans don’t get to have all the fun today!

MSN Movies has posted a cool little snippet of footage from G.I. Joe: Retaliation, featuring a conversation between Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson) and Joe Colton (Bruce Willis).  We’ve seen most of this scene already in various trailers and TV spots, but it’s pretty awesome to see it all stitched together, with some added footage afterwards.

You can find it on MSN Movies.  Unfortunately it looks like they do not allow embedding, but hop on over to check it out!

EDIT:  Embed Code now available (big thanks to Latino Review)!

A whole army of 24 good reasons that G.I. Joe: Retaliation will rock

There are certain things that must be present in order for a film to succeed… obviously a good villain is pretty close to the top of that list.  Twitziller picks some of those villains to focus on in today’s update.  Check it out below.

#24:

I will admit if there is anything I’m not wild about from my first exposure to G.I. Joe: Retaliation so far it would be the Cobra Troopers.  Granted, they’re a darn sight better than the Neo-Vipers and Viper Commando’s we got in The Rise of Cobra, but in my mind, Cobra Troopers should be wearing straight blue uniforms and face masks.  I certainly understand for the sake of this story, this new look makes sense, and I like the fact that there is a healthy dose of blue throughout the urban camouflage of these troopers.

My minor quibbles about their appearance aside, they certainly seem to be an imposing force serving as the arms of the Cobra cause.  Looking forward to seeing them in action.

Running time for G.I. Joe: Retaliation clocks in at two hours and five minutes

As reported by BCYOJOE on HISSTank.com, the MANN Theaters website has been updated with more details about G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  The following details have appeared on the site:

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, D.J. Cotrona, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson

Director: John M. Chu

Opening Date: 3.29.13

Rating: PG-13

Running Time: 125 mins

Genre(s): Action

Synopsis:

Veteran dance-film director Jon Chu takes a crack at G.I. Joe in this sequel to Stephen Sommers’ blockbuster 2009 film. Dwayne Johnson stars as Roadblock in the sequel, with Channing Tatum returning as Duke, the leader of the Joes, and Ray Park joining them as mute ninja Snake Eyes. Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, Lee Byung-hun, Elodie Yung, and RZA co-star.

So at 125 minutes, the official run time is just over 2 hours.  I think that’s a good amount.  Seems amazing though, that there’s several years worth of build up for an experience that will last just over 125 minutes, and the end result could shape the future of the franchise.  Pretty bizarre, and a clear indication of the power of Hollywood.

Another interesting note is that MANN Theaters puts the official release date still at March 29th, which I think just goes further to prove the March 28th date seen in recent trailers and TV Spots is just reflecting a midnight (or earlier) premiere, and isn’t a reflection of a real change in the launch date.

Adrianne Palicki goes on “The Couch” to promote G.I. Joe: Retaliation

CBS Morning show “The Couch” had G.I. Joe: Retaliation co-star Adrianne Palicki on as a guest this morning, bringing some hard-edged bad ass to the soft and fuzzy morning show atmosphere.  She only spoke for a few minutes about G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and there wasn’t a whole lot of information revealed, but it’s good to see some promotion happening.  I anticipate this sort of stuff will really ramp up as we move forward towards the end of March.

Check it out on CBS New York as well as embedded below.

A trio of TV Spots on the G.I. Joe: Retaliation YouTube page

Two of these TV Spots have been uploaded before…  “Fist” and “Drive It” are both a couple of months old, but for whatever reason just showed up as re-uploaded to the G.I. Joe Movie YouTube Channel.  I’m thinking they may be updated all of these TV Spots in 1080p, but I’m not sure.

Regardless, I’ll take whatever excuse I can to check out footage from the upcoming movie, and I’m thinking most of you will, too.  Not only that, but a third TV spot entitled “Rock Solid” has now been uploaded as well.  While the name is new, the footage is the same.

Oh, wait a minute.  As was mentioned a couple of days ago, the release date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been changed (apparently) to March 28th.  These TV Spots all reflect the changed release date, so evidently Paramount is uploading all of the old TV Spots again, with the new release date.  Now it all makes sense.

Well, I’m here anyway, so here are those TV spots.  Enjoy!

Date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation UK Premiere set for March 18th

Wow.  That seems like… well, two weeks from now.  Because it is.

Wow.

There will be people in the world who have seen G.I. Joe: Retaliation (finally) in TWO WEEKS.  That almost blows my mind.  The UK Film Dates website confirms that G.I. Joe: Retaliation will have it’s London premiere on March 18th and that a number of stars will be in attendance!  I hope they’re watching it in a bomb shelter so the rod-cannon doesn’t kill them all when Cobra destroys the city.

But here’s the best news…  the best news is that GeneralsJoes and the What’s on Joe Mind podcast should have a representative at the premiere!  So, expect exclusive content straight from the movie screen just after the premiere event.  This is very exciting news and I know I cannot wait to pass the G.I. Joe love on to everyone here and on the show.  Again, this info comes courtesy of UK Film Dates.

Two weeks.  Wow.
