Exclusive G.I. Joe: Retaliation clip from MovieFone shows Duke’s harder side

Over at MovieFone we have another G.I. Joe: Retaliation clip featuring Duke!  Channing Tatum’s character has been somewhat elusive and the source of many questions over the past few months, so it’s interesting to see an entire clip focused purely on him.  There is some cool new footage scattered throughout, though.

EDIT: Some script problems were killing the MovieFone Clip.  Here’s a clip straight from Paramount International of the gun scene:

The TOP TEN. Within 10 days of G.I. Joe: Retaliation and reason #10 to see it

Holy wow.  The TOP TEN.  We have broken 10 days, G.I. Joe fans.  The film looms above us coming up at the end of March, and it’s tough to believe that we’re already only 10 days away.  Twitziller keeps the momentum going with one of the key scenes from the first trailer.

#10:

It’s amazing how spot on Twitziller is with some of these things and how you don’t really think about it until he mentions it.  Not just that, but it’s equally amazing that the film makers were able to latch on to key elements of the G.I. Joe mythology and technology this way.  Because he’s exactly right, motorcycles have always played a huge role in the G.I. Joe mystique throughout the years.  From the RAM to the Silver Mirage, and all the way up to the Venom and Ninja Cycles from Valor Vs. Venom.  Even if motorcycles don’t get much use in a “real world” military setting, they are simply too cool to ignore, and fun as heck to play with.

Firefly’s Cobra motorcyle is a bit unique of course, and by the looks of things can only be used once in its explosive capacity.  That sort of crazy, out of the box thinking is what makes the Cobra technology so cool.

“Hey Destro… make me a $100,000 motorcycle that turns into missiles and EXPLODESSSS!”

“Yes, Cobra Commander…”

Beautiful.

What’s on Joe Mind Episode 75 – Listener call in extravaganza!!

Well, we loved it so much we did it again!

In celebration of episode #52, we offered listeners a chance to call in and talk with us directly about their burning G.I. Joe issues, and the response was incredible.  We all had a blast doing it, so we figured to celebrate our diamond anniversary of episode #75 we’d do it again.  I think we’re all glad we did.  It was a raucus, “from the hip” whirlwind where we eschewed news and current events and just leaped into talking with YOU, our listeners.  Joined by good friend Erik Arana, who provides some great insight into our hobby and the toy industry in general.

Because there wasn’t much in the way of news or intel, the show notes are just below.  You can find the episode on Podbean, or via the embedded players below.

SHOW NOTES

It’s our second ever listener call in show!  We put the news, email, and Twitter on hold and take your calls and answer your questions!  Show friend, Erik Arana hangs out with us and gives us a unique perspective on our hobby.  If you don’t know who Erik is, you need to listen in!  Special appearances by WOJM contributors Eduardo M Freyre (with a lemon twist), Ryan Costello, Jr. WOJM Twitter laureate, Twitziller, Noted Author, James Kavanaugh, Jr. and Numbers from Ages 25 and Up.  It’s a festive, from the hip episode where the only thing that matters is taking your calls…and making fun of Chuck.   Enjoy!

So, do you still want to work for Cobra Special Forces? This may change your mind

The production team and PR folks behind G.I. Joe: Retaliation have been doing a fantastic job with the Cobra Special Forces concept, producing very motivational, recruitment-style videos encouraging people to join Cobra, “see the world” and defend freedom.

While we all know the truth behind Cobra, it would seem in the Retaliation world, they don’t know any better.  I’m not sure how many new recruits those videos pulled into the fold, but it would now appear that the Cobra truth is revealed!  Cobra Commander himself takes to the airways to tell of Cobra’s true calling…

How awesome is that?
