Marauder Valkyries first 3D Sculpts revealed!

When it comes to these Kickstarter campaigns, it can be a tight rope, walking the line between needing funding to start production, and actually having items at some level of production so backers know what they’re getting.

With Marauder Task Force, we had a pretty good idea, as the digital sculpt and 3D printed mock up were revealed right away, but not so much with the Valkyries.  Well, we’re less than a week to go, and now we have something to look at!

Marauder revealed the 3D Printed sculpts for their upcoming Valkyrie toy line and, as one might expect, they look amazing.  The digital sculpts translate to near perfection to the three dimensional form, and these are impressive to say the least.

Hopefully some folks were just waiting in the wings to see some physical samples, and now that they’ve been revealed, we can see some good movement on this thing again.  We’ve got a ways to go to start unlocking more of those stretch goals.  Check out the Marauder Valkyrie Kickstarter, and throw some support its way!  We need to prove that not only can independent toy makers do this stuff, but we need to prove that there’s a market for female figures as well.  Let’s do this!

Vitruvian HACKS first test shot images look as amazing as you’d expect

Being the big fan of Boss Fight Studio that I am, I’ve been eagerly anticipating some new images of the upcoming Vitruvian HACKS figures, and this morning we all received a nice Kickstarter update surprise!

Fresh from the factory, they’ve posted some great images of the First Shots of their upcoming releases, which they can sample, test, and make suggested changes for.  The process is cruising right along and this will be a big step out of the way!

I can’t wait to get these bad boys in hand.  Check out the images below.  The detail on these figures is incredible.  Look at those snakes in Stheno’s hair. Wowzers.

Kickstarter Update:

Hey Boss-Figthers!

We thought we’d give you guys a look at an exciting part of the process that’s rarely seen by consumers. Below is a gallery of the first shot samples of Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. These are some of the very first samples out of the molds, and while they’re shot in random colors, and look a little rough right now, we’re exceptionally pleased with the level of detail that came through! The fit and function issues will get there in short order through a detailed comments process. We’ll have more polished samples (and better pics!) soon, but until then, please enjoy!

(PS: There’s a couple Marauder Task Force figures and accessories in there for scale reference and fun!)

Marauder Valkyries Kickstarter Updated with 3D Models

We are just over halfway through the Marauder “Valkyries” Kickstarter campaign, and sitting at almost $68,000.  So far, all that we’ve seen of the Valkyrie figures has been some great Boss Fight Studio input drawings, but that all changed tonight.

For the first time, Marauder has revealed 3D Digital Sculpts of three of the upcoming Valkyries and they’re looking pretty sharp!

Hop on over to the Kickstarter page, and check out some of the images below.  As these stretch goals get wrapped up, the higher pledges become a whole lot more valuable.

Keep watching the campaign, there are only 18 days left, and they’ll be done before you know it.

Boss Fight Studio reveals Ultimate Spartan NJCC Exclusive

Lots of news coming out of New Jersey Collectors Con today!  Not only did we see the first reveal of the Marauder Task Force “Valkyries”, but we also hear that the Kickstarter will launch tomorrow!

Along with this, Boss Fight Studio has revealed a special NJCC Exclusive “Ultimate Spartan” figure!  This figure will come with a wide assortment of accessories in gold deco, and a special “battle worn” deco.  It’s an amazing looking figure.  Check out some of the images below, courtesy of John from JoeCustoms.com and Craig from the Boss Fighters Facebook Group.

First look at concept art for Marauder Task Force “Valkyries”

The Valkyries have been getting teased for a short while, although until now, nobody really knew what the Valkyrie project was.  Since Valkyries are legendary female warriors, I think most folks figured it would be a female buck for the Marauder Task Force line, and it looks like most folks were right!

Today at New Jersey Collectors Con, Boss Fight Studio and Marauder themselves are in attendance (so stop reading this and GO TO CHERRY HILL, NJ!) and they have revealed the first concept art of the Valkyrie project!  Pretty exciting stuff.

HissTank.com’s Facebook Page has posted the first images, and I’m pretty excited.  Not only are there some new female bucks, but there are plenty of great new weapons that will work for all figures, and there looks to be a new male figure as well.  The male figure has rolled up sleeves, a great looking armored torso and what appear to be different legs.

Keep in mind this is all concept art, so things could certainly change, but we’re definitely off on the right track here.  Check out the mirrored images below, and if you’re anywhere near Cherry Hill, NJ, make your way to NJCC.  I’ve been there before, and it’s a blast.

Boss Fight Studio Virtuvian HACKS Update – Possible Delivery Dates!

Kickstarter supporters for Vitruvian HACKS have received an e-mail update today with some great news!

Now that the Marauder Task Force figures have been produced and distributed, the factory has been freed up to focus resources on Vitruvian HACKS, which has pushed along their production schedule nicely.

Boss Fight expects the first test shots to be in hand mid August for Quality review, with a potential initial delivery within the fourth quarter of this year. GREAT news for folks (like me) who are feeding for some Vitruvian HACKS greatness.

Check out the full text of the e-mail below and let’s go HACKS!

Manufacturing under-way!
Hi Boss-Fighters!
This is the big one.  We have the process rolling to our satisfaction and we can finally announce dates.  But first, a little background:

When we started Boss Fight Studio almost two and a half years ago, we knew we wanted to do more than freelance development for other companies – our main goal was to develop our own product.  Something without compromise, that we could stand behind,  that would be among the best collectible toys out there.  Thanks to all of you, the Kickstarter campaign was successful beyond all expectations.  Since this was our first crowd funding campaign, the flip side of this success was that we ended up adding far more items than we had initially planned on, and development on those additional items took time.

As many of you already know, we’ve also been dealing with some manufacturing hiccups on the product for our friends at Marauder “Gun-Runners”.  We’ve been intimately involved with the entire process, and Marauder is using the same factory that we’d already sourced for HACKS.  We wanted to make sure that the Marauder Task Force figures were dead-on, primarily to follow through with our friend Marauder John, but also because, if the factory that we’re partnered with couldn’t get these right, it wasn’t going to be the right place for Vitruvian HACKS.

Well, we’re happy to report that the factory went above and beyond to meet the high quality expectations of MGR and BFS. Including completely re-running the entire production run of MTF figures, and hiring new employees to do exacting quality-control checks. On our recent trip to China, we were able to witness these changes first hand and reaffirm that we are partnered with the right people, who care about delivering top-notch products. Partners who are 100% committed to forging long lasting relationships, with both BFS and MGR, for years to come. The delay to our original manufacturing window was significant, but in the end, it will be worth it.

With production and shipment of the Marauder Task Force figures, wrapped up in June, Our factory partners were freed up to continue tooling preparations for Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. and have been working fast and furiously. Up until this point, we did not have a solid delivery window, and for that, we apologize.  We know you guys have been waiting a long time.

We have been told to expect our first test-shots for review in the middle of August. This represents a significant milestone in the process and we cant wait to share photos with you all! We have also been informed that, due to the large number of items, production of our order will be split into two groups shipping approximately one month apart. If all goes relatively smoothly, we are looking at a 4th quarter delivery window.  We wish it was sooner, but the complexity of the figures and sheer number of items will take time to manufacture.  We can’t thank you guys enough for your support and patience.  When we have more info, pics, whatever, they’ll be passed on to you without delay.

Best wishes,
Andrew, Fred, Dave, Erik and Catrina.
