Sideshow has posted answers to their latest Q & A session, and within that Q & A were a pair of G.I. Joe related questions:
Q: I was wondering if you will be making a line of Premium Format G.I Joe? …. AND …. How about G.I. Joe Dioramas (not just the environments like Recon at Waypoint 12, but full dios)?
A: We do have some news to share on the subject of expanded GI Joe licensing. Stay tuned to the Sideshow website, especially around the time of San Diego Comic-Con (in late July).
Q: I love your G.I. Joe 12 inch figures. Do you plan on making newer characters like Cobra Red Ninja, Ninja Viper, etc?
A: Thank you! Our design & development teams are really enjoying the opportunity to work on the Joe line! Our initial focus will be on the more well-known and recognized characters. If the line continues long enough, it’s possible that you’ll see more Cobra troopers & ninjas incorporated into the line, but they’re not yet in any stage of development.
Sounds like we’re going to have a lot to look forward to around San Diego ComicCon time! Click here to check out the full article.
Sideshow Collectibles has updated their COBRA Commander page with a full gallery of eight new images of this amazing looking Convention exclusive. Check out the pre-order page here, and look at the images mirrored below.

IDW issued a press release yesterday outlining their plans for producing their G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA movie adaptation as a weekly limited series in July, quite a ways before the actual film hits theaters. MTV.com Splash Page landed an exclusive image from this adaptation, and posted an article here.
I’ve also got the images in the article mirrored below.

GeneralsJoes has gotten our mits on the unreleased G.I. Joe: Resolute Destro and has posted a review here! Tons of images and detail for what is one of the coolest Destro figures I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Fans submitted hundreds of questions, and the favorites have been submitted to the Resolute creative team, and the video is now online at GIJoeResolute.com!

FAO Shwarz, a fairly famous, but small chain of high-end toy retail stores has been under danger of bankruptcy for some time now, but has just been purchased by Toys “R” Us, a move that will benefit both entities. While there’s no way to really determine what impact this will have (if any) on anyone’s toy buying habits, it’s nice to see some news on toy-specific retailers these days, seeing as how many of them have already gone under.
With the recent news that Wal-Mart is cutting the size of their toy departments, perhaps toy-focused retailers will start coming back into vogue? Let’s hope. I’ll buy toys whereever I can find them, but there’s nothing in the world that beats shopping at a dedicated toy store. There’s just something about it…

I’ve talked a bit on here before (though definitely not enough) about my buddy Capolan. Without him, I wouldn’t hesitate to say, my dio-stories probably would have never gotten to the point they are now. He is a wizard with foamcore at small scales and can actually build things that I cannot even think about. Everything from the materials, the glue application and the detail work he has down to a science, and with foamcore he can generate things that feel like they were pushed through a factory. Designed for looking good, but built to “play with” they are awesome backdrops for my dio-stories, which is why I continue to use him to this day.
His latest masterpiece is something that will be featured pretty heavily in my next G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club newsletter dio-story, so I figured I’d take this opportunity to do a few little preview shots for your viewing pleasure. Check out the images below for some shots of the action that will be taking place in the July issue!

But of course this wouldn’t have even been possible without Capolan’s fantastic work on the office and research lab portion of the set. Check out some images in better light below:

Cap’s work always amazes. I know most of my recent work has been in the Collectors’ Club newsletter, and I hope members are enjoying what they’re reading. I promise that I am still hacking away at my main universe as well (which will also feature this set heavily).
