Remember a few days ago when I mentioned that it looked like the floodgates might be opening? Well, they’re still open, and Gyre-Viper is there collecting it all. He posted a few updates at HissTank here and here with some very cool pictures of upcoming items, and cancelled items.
I’m especially loving that Alley-Viper. LOVE the fact that he has the Resolute headgear as well as the more standard stuff. Very cool looking items here. Three more weeks from today and we should be seeing a lot more at JoeCon. Check out the mirrored images below, and once again, a huge thanks to Gyre-Viper for keeping the “dead time” between toy releases fairly eventful.

Man, the transparency effect on Jungle Cobra Commander has way better results than the one that actually got released… I’m thinking it’s mostly the use of flesh rather than horrible burn victim paint on the face, though.
The Flashlight socket in Jungle Duke’s backpack is really neat touch, It thought it was just going to go in the elastic band with the machine gun/rifle.
I don’t really get the idea behind desert Storm Shadow, but all the new sculpted bits are really nice.
yo Justin… apparently there’s a Shadow Tracker doing the rounds via test-shot in the ebay underground. hahahah. someone beat me to it but I think it’s a sign that we’ll get to see this figure in retail aka Hasbro said 2011 and I’m gonna hold them to it damn it!!
Doesn’t appear that they’ve fixed the problem with the Alley Viper backpack not being able to hold the grapple gun without a rubber band. Unless I missed something in the pics. Still its a cool ass figure and I’ll be armybuilding the hell out of them.
Hollowing out the backpacks and adding slots to hold the gear is such a simple improvement that I’m really surprised it hasn’t been done before. Makes me want to go through the old o-ring stuff and see if I can stuff accessories in the old backpacks.
I do wish someone at Hasbro would take a look at the original Alley Viper art and then look at the face shield on the toy and ask, “How can he see through this thing?” The Battle Corps face shield design is the one they should be remaking.

Noting what they said about the new Hiss Tank, I assume that there are micro-cameras that project images of the battle onto the interior of the faceplate. I do agree that they should produce the Battle Corps helmet design.
If you are going to complain about the Alley Viper mask, then you should be complaining about the original Viper too. Imaginations please? There are transparent one-way materials that afford shielding and shrapnel insurance.
Hey guys, i might be a little off-topic here, but i’m gonna rant about it nonetheless: this past weekend i bought the Venom figure from the new Hasbro Spider-man line, and boy, was i pissed and dissapointed to see venom has no knee, ankle & mid-torso articulation! as any loyal Hasbro (and now angry) figure collector, i gotta say: Hasbro, what the hell, man? Venom is spidey’s arch-nemesis, so he MUST be articulated as well! what a scam! sorry to brought this Marvel complain to a GIjoe site, but i’m almost sure some of you guys might be considering buying this figure,(if not already did) so i posted this as a warning as well, it’s a shame, ’cause the sculpt is awesome, but the articulation issues left me cold and bitter.
Re: Alley Viper’s mask
It’s more of an aesthetic issue with me than an imagination thing. The original Viper design looks cool goggles included. It’s reminiscent of Cobra Commander’s battle helmet. I think Alley Viper with his face shield down just looks so dumb.
Check the original card art:

It looks like it was meant to cover his mouth not his eyes.
Also, the double Cobra logos (one molded onto the helmet already plus the additional one on the visor) makes me think there was a mistake somewhere along the line and Hasbro just let it go. Notice they never reused this design until the 25th figure.
I don’t believe he ever flips it down in Operation Dragonfire so that’s no help.
