With more thanks than I can fit into a single post, MadMac41, Fred, Gary, and the guys at JBL have worked tirelessly today to keep me in the loop, deal with my harassing phone calls, and even put me on speaker phone so I could listen in on the Hasbro 2010 panel. A better group of guys isn’t out there on the web today. Of course, the guys at The Terror Drome are giving them a run for their money with their awesome “Cover it Love” coverage of all of the roundtables, and hundreds of awesome images that they’ve posted throughout the day as well. For this post, I’ve utilized images from both of those mentioned sources, with permission.
This is the first year since 2002 that I haven’t made the trip to the Con, and while nothing can possibly take the place of hitting the bar with my buddies after a day filled with Joe goodies, at least this time around I can live vicariously through the great pictures and information gathered by fans onsite who give up their valuable time to keep the rest of us informed. Check out all the gory details after the “jump”.
The Hasbro 2010 Marketing Panel makes sure the fans know that 2010 begins “The Pursuit of COBRA” which sends G.I. Joe and COBRA to the four corners of the world, tackling each other in different environments:

Whew…I think this is enough for one day. Holy crap.
If anyone is wondering what my opinions are on the stuff… wow. Some of these figures are simply astounding. I’ll do a full recap once the Con wraps, but for now, I am really, really loving what I’m seeing. Sorry for the somewhat belated coverage…busy home day today!
Oh my god, wave 2 is so full of win!
The backpack/camo thing on that Jungle Viper is terrifying!
I’m gonna have to order this crap online and pay insane shipping to Africa!
Jutin great round up. Any idea who Ashiko is?
Some of that looks really nice. Especially the revamped Night er Jungle Viper.
great info on up coming joes. but is it just me or did they rip off Robotech and Bubblegum Crisis on the transforming Motorcycle lol. also are they planning to release the Terror Drome?
Some of the figures are AMAZING! I am beyond impressed.
The vehicles, however, leave me cold. Not a single one that I want.
And I HATE the transforming motorcycle. They are just trying to cash in on Transformers. How lame!!
I’m sorry, all I saw was Terror Drome. drool….
Seriously, I’m going to have to start saving up for that.
Hmm, actually I hope they improve it a bit, the old one doesn’t seem so exciting after a review. That jungle viper and recondo are both really neat.
Well, now we know that Storm Shadow didn’t die.
HOLY CRAP THOSE FIGURES LOOK GOOD!
I want the mail-away Cobra COmmander the most because he really is shaping up to be more familiar.
that transforming motorcycle is actually pretty neat. i might look into getting that.
Um, according to the coverage I’ve read, they said at the very beginning of the panel “We have no plans for a Terrordrome or Flagg, so don’t ask.”
That Jungle Viper, while scary with the amount of extra stuff flowing, looks awesome. Probably the first ROC cobra troop I army build. I am really surprised by the amount of detail they’ve put into some. Beachhead is insane! Look at all the pockets. Recondo and Firefly looks sweet as well. And for a Duke figure, the jungle one looks rather interesting. Gives something rather different, instead of just playing around with existing tooling to make something we’ve already seen.
That new Timber appears to be articulated. A little.
City Strike Firefly’s backpack is amazing!
Desert Battle Ripcord is gorgeous.
Desert Zartan’s hood and bird are wicked!
Jungle Viper is still terrifying.
I don’t like environment-specific things, especially arctic… but I loved the Snow Cat when I was a kid, so that’s tempting.
I’ve saved these photos to my desktop since I’ll have dial-up soon; I know I’ll want to look back at them again.
Oh man! Jungle Viper FTW!
Resolute Scarlett! But in better colors and gas mask!
Beach head and Firefly are awesome! Now I don’t feel too bad about not finding Pit Commandos.
*Faints
*Gets back up and reviews pics
*Faints again
Wow, they went the extra mile on those figs! I really love Zartan with the bird on his staff and I’m wondering if he was ever represented with one, the idea seems really familiar.
They are going to kill the mold out of that CC! The red one looks cool, better than the jungle strike one.
They have to make a Baroness for next year, one that does not look as bad!
Some of those designs look like a combo between resolute and S6, Firefly’s mask namely.
The Raven looks pretty good in the dessert color scheme, I have to pick a couple up!
2010 can’t come soon enough!
Jungle viper, he might be difficult in tracking down.

That new Hiss rocks!!!!!!!!!!

The one in the blueprints, not really the tiny one.

Oh. My. Word.
The figures…the FIGURES! I cannot believe that Jungle Viper. As in, is it even possible that such a figure can someday be on my shelf, sniping Joes? And Recondo. RECONDO?! A must buy?! Amazing. (His MASK!!!)
Here I thought Resolute Snake Eyes was gonna be the “Must Buy” from the upcoming stuff, and these pics show that Hasbro has knocked it out of the park. (And I’ll somehow be buying ANOTHER Firefly…)
The vehicles…meh…The Cyclone (yay Robotech!) is a must have, and I kinda dig the new HISS, but the others are kinda take-it or leave-it. I’ll want a Fury, but mainly for the Alley Viper, and to fight the RHINO. Otherwise… (Guess it’s good. I get to save SOME money.)
Whats with these garbage cards.. I want them to go back to 25th style cards.. I have stopped buying them and will not buy any more until they switched back to 25th style cards or the vintage styles.
Screw these stupid looking packaging. They could easy do the classic style and put the logos in the top like they did with the cartoon style and say ROC
Ok
1) Who cares about the card backs? I pick this stuff up for the figures inside.
2) I so hope I don’t get another pay cut at work because there is a lot of goodness shown there that I want to see in my collection. The Cyclone and new HISS look great from what I can see so far. And so many cool figures to get too…the hunt will be on.
3) Is it just me or does it look like the Fury has the old size footpegs?
Thank you for this review roundup. It’s nice to have this all in one place to view (and drool a bit) over.
that firefly helmet looks like green goblin
