During the frenzy of reveals for the G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie toys late last week, one thing that many folks latched on to was the header up above that said “Coming Soon! 14 more movie line items to be revealed…”
Well, today the GIJoeMovie Twitter account posted a link to the Retaliation reveal, and the next now reads “Coming Soon! 16 more movie line items to be revealed…”. Yes, in the grand scheme of things, two is a pretty small number, but for folks desperately hoping for more movie accurate figures like Joe Colton, Flint, Lady Jaye, etc… you now have two extra spots to work with.
Time will tell if we’ll see any of these 16 items at Toy Fair. I’ll be on the scene this weekend to keep you in the loop!
Thanks to Caped Crusader and ToyCollector962 on Twitter for the heads up.
There was a post on the ‘Tank about the roleplay items being up for preorder on BBTS, two of them were not on the original Retaliation page. When I was checking to make sure, I noticed it said 16 items to be revealed.
Troy (troynos)
I’d like an alternate Jinx (with that great unmasked head sculpt), Lady Jaye, Flint, Firefly, Joe Colton and more Cobras and the other characters or off screen guys.
Sadly, I doubt we’ll get 4inch Walton Goggins.
I’m buying about five Joe Colton figures simply for Die Hard customs.
Where are my detonators?
I’d like to see the actual Flint and Firefly figures as I’ve now come to grips with the idea that none of the vehicles come with figures at all but mannequins and very detailed ballistics dummies.
I like the way you think.
So psyched!
I was a little taken aback by the articulation issue, though I’m not convinced its accurate. They look VERY photoshopped the pics with the lack of articulation, but either way I don’t care. Besides the Bravo vehicles which are ho-hum even stuff I wasnt thrilled with initially is growing on me….BIG time.
Just love what we are getting, can’t wait to see more. I am going to be SO broke. So, so, so so broke.
Even considering possible crap articulation that HISS driver just looks so cool. And the Battle packs and oh man, I am in love with most of what has been shown.
I feel kinda weird being on this side of the big meltdown but I’m sure a lot happier this time around than when ROC crap hit shelves. THIS I will buy. Maybe not the Bravo stuff but after some more pics I definately like everything MUCh better than after the first pics and I was pretty thrilled at that point already.
I totally dig the stylized edgy sculpting too, looks killer.
Looks like we won’t have much to argue about this year Justin. 😀
The movie looks cool, the toys are killer and the comic has improved 200% and I’m really digging that too. It’s very nice to be on the happy side for change!
At least the drivers look cool. Hasbro could have produced a fig with a crappy sculpt and crappy POA.
YO JOE posted these this morning, there is a flint on a motorcycle and firefly on a motorcycle too.

Oh wow there is so much cool stuff here…but I am a little concerned about all the “ninja” action…the ninja jeep, the ninja awe striker… the ninja cycle with flint… the ninja commando roadblock… don’t get me wrong I love me some Joe ninjas…but…
Do you think that is Kamakura in the ninja battles set?
I did some quick research (what can I say, I’m lucky to get paid good money to do stuff I’d do anyway) on Hasbro and how they do they do their Business Intelligence. Obviously my sources are public and usually there are disconnects between how things are presented and how they really work internally. With that caveat, it appears that Hasbro does quit a bit of Business Intelligence. That’s good. But it also appears that these are placed under the Accounting / Finance division.
That’s actually a really really big deal. If that’s accurate then it means that the metrics Hasrbo uses to make product decisions have specific systemic biases towards accounting and finance priorities. First and formost is a bias towards making projections based on existing lines and judging brand performance based on maximizing margins. That’s qualitatively different than if Business Intelligence is driven from the business, which is generally more reactive to anticipating market demand and using the data to try to divine trends.
This is not good news; While I am sure that the product team does have influence I can tell you from personal experience that it can be exhausting constantly making business cases in these situations because accounting/finance does not have the contextual understanding of demand to make good projections on what is likely to succeed and what isn’t.
bueno los juguetes se ven bien pero con todo respeto se parecen mas al video juego que a la pelicula
