I’ve been showcasing many of the images and details for the upcoming fanfilm, G.I. Joe: Initiate, and we also interviewed a key contributor, Fred Doss on the most recent episode of What’s on Joe Mind. But all along the way, folks have been clamoring for some video. Well, it’s not much, but the folks behind the film have posted a small teaser, just to set the tone. With their Kickstarter project recently closed, and full funding achieved, they can now start full blown production on the project, and I’m sure a more elaborate teaser or trailer will be coming along. Be sure you’ve “Liked” them on Facebook to keep up to date as well.
Until then, check out the short (but cool) teaser below, and even though their Kickstarter program has ended, you can still hit up GIJoeInitiate.com to donate via PayPal and help this ambitious project succeed. I’m looking forward to the end result!
We were one of the sites last week to break the news that Sideshow Collectibles was on the verge of announcing the pre-order for a new version of the venerable G.I. Joe commando ninja Snake Eyes! Well, the figure will be up for pre-order on March 15th (that’s Thursday), and Sideshow has posted the full gallery today!
This figure carries a hefty price tag, but comes with a ton of accessories as well as a fully articulated Timber. That’s right… Fully. Articulated. Timber.
Hell, the Sideshow Exclusive even has a swappable portrait for the wolf. Impressive, most impressive!
I’ve mirrored just a few images below, but the full blown gallery can be seen at Sideshow Collectibles, and keep your eyes peeled here on GeneralsJoes for when the pre-order goes live!
The spring of our discontent with the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club continues…but things have gotta look up sometime soon, right? Just received the following email from Brian Savage at the Collectors’ Club:
“Hello,
It seems when it rains it pours. We just found out this morning that our printer has failed to mail you the March issue. This will be going out by Friday so they are incredibly late. If you don’t get yours by the end of the month, please let us know. We apoligize for the delay.
Brian”
So, those waiting for the March newsletter will have to wait a bit longer. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
For a couple of hours Sunday night I had a blast recording with not just Howie and Joe from UnderScoopFire, but also Jason from The Terror Drome and Dave from Flag Points. We went through some of our greatest G.I. Joe memories, covered the comics, cartoons, toys, and more!
Here we are, two days later and the episode is online!
Check out the latest episode of the UnderScoopFire Podcast right here, and a huge thanks to the USF guys for inviting me, and for Jason and Dave for some awesome G.I. Joe discussion. It was a blast!
The original Infestation series surprised me with how much I enjoyed it, especially considering the somewhat supernatural twist to the story. Based on what I’m seeing so far with this preview, I think I may end up feeling the same way here. How can you not love the Cobra Insane Asylum being nicknamed “Cobra La” and featuring characters like Gristle, Raptor, and Cesspool? I mean come ON.
So far looking pretty fun and pretty “out there”. Can’t wait to check it out on Wednesday, but for now, here’s the 5 Page Preview below.

Infestation 2: G.I. Joe #1 (of 2)
Mike Raicht (w) • Valentine De Landro (a) De Landro, Livio Ramondelli (c)
Cobra has always had a penchant for dark experiments. This time they’ve gone too far and opened a portal to a realm of violence and madness. As squadron after squadron of Cobra Vipers falls under the thrall of the Elder Gods there seems no way to stop the hideous transformations that are taking place. The only hope lies in a group of already-insane Cobra agents… and a Joe named Snake Eyes!
