Pursuit of Cobra HISS and Mech Images posted online

Yes, I’m still in the midst of convention decompressing and gathering information together to get posted, but I just had to get this nugget out there, since I think a lot of fans will love checking out these images.
Gyre-Viper of HissTank.com posted a metric ton of pictures of recently acquired HISS Tank as well as both the G.I. Joe and Cobra Mech Suits for the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra line.  Yes, they are as sick as you think they are, especially that HISS.  Amazing stuff.  The thread can be found here, and I’ve mirrored nearly three dozen pics below as well.
In an effort to tie this back in to the convention, too, I did want to just take a minute and say one of the highlights of the Con for me was getting a chance to meet and interact with Gyre-Viper as he prowled the sales floor or the hallways of the hotel.  I’ve seen my fair share of fans from all walks of life, and many of those fans I run into who buy the pre-production items have a craving to be “first”, to wear it like some sort of badge of honor.  But Gyre-Viper has a palpable thirst for knowledge, an amazing respect for the G.I. Joe brand, and a healthy desire to see G.I. Joe succeed, which drives him to collect the way he does.  He obviously has a deep appreciation for what the toys are all about now, but he also is extremely fascinated with how the production process happens, and with the history of G.I. Joe over the past twenty-eight years.
It was a blast meeting with him and shooting the breeze for a little while, and it always excites me when someone who hasn’t been around all that long can motivate other folks to get excited for the product, and who has an obvious energy himself.
Gyre-Viper, you da man!  Keep it up, bud.

Back home from RI… will be playing catch up

Okay, I’m officially back home from the Convention, but obviously spent the night with the family.  Got some school work to catch up on, then will try to play some catch up over the next few days.  I think I covered most of the new stuff at the Con, but I definitely want to talk about the Collectors’ Club round table, give more specific details about the Pursuit of Cobra figures, and I should probably get the PoC SuperPage revamp started.  😉
For anyone who frequented the page during the Con rampage, thank you very much.  I know I wasn’t all that current with the news and info as it happened, but a guy’s gotta have some fun at the Con, too.  And I did.  But we’ll leave all those gory details out of the web articles, I should think.
A few guys out there will know what I’m talking about.  😉
Thanks again to all the readers for making GeneralsJoes their “home”.  A lot of folks came up to me at the Con and expressed their thanks, appreciation, and let me know what they thought of the site, and for that I’m infinitely appreciative.  I’ll continue to try my hardest to make GJ worth your while.  I may not have the latest news up the second it breaks, but I’ll try to get as much info as possible, and put my own “fanboy” slant on it.
The rest of 2010 and into 2011 looks absolutely amazing from a Pursuit of Cobra perspective.  Where we go from there with G.I. Joe: Renegades is anyone’s guess, and it makes me a bit nervous, but regardless, G.I. Joe ain’t going anywhere any time soon.

Updated JoeCon Images – Pursuit of Cobra for 2011

Wow.  You know, I thought the 2010 Pursuit of Cobra product looked pretty bad ass.  Turned out I hadn’t seen anything yet.  Holy crap.
The figures they showed us today are simply in SANE.  Yes, it’s another Destro.  Yes, it’s another Duke, and another Snake Eyes, and yes, even another Storm Shadow.  But these figures absolutely ROCK.
Plus…  Low Light.  Awesomeness.  A perfect blend of the 25th Anniversary style with the Pursuit of Cobra design aesthetic.  And hell!  Desert Scorpion, too.  Jeez!  Fantastic looking figures.  Check out the image flood below.

The only major down side with the Pursuit of Cobra is that it ends in Spring, 2011, to be replaced by the Renegades toyline in Fall, 2011.  Still, I’m going to enjoy the ride while it lasts!

Quick Hits – G.I. Joe: Renegades

I just got out of the Hasbro seminar and done with my volunteer duties, and before I take pics of the abso-freaking lutely AWESOME Pursuit of Cobra stuff for 2011 (and while I wait for my camera batteries to charge) I wanted to just drop some information about the new animated series coming to The Hub this fall.
These are some notes I jotted down that can be found at the “Read the rest of this entry” link below.

Stay Tuned tomorrow for JoeCon Info

So I know today was a pretty quiet day and I kind of shot all my pics up at once at the end…I’m hoping it’ll be different tomorrow.
Just an idea of tomorrow’s rundown and when to expect coverage to start firing up.
The Hasbro seminar is at 11:00am, and goes until 11:50.  But then I’ve got to work for the Collectors’ Club from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.  The goal is to head back up to the room around 1:00pm and start doing pics and notes from the Hasbro seminar.
Tomorrow we should get a look at G.I. Joe: Renegades, the 2011 Pursuit of Cobra product, and some cool stuff we have NOT seen yet.  If you think Joe Con has been mostly the same stuff we’ve seen, don’t worry.  More is definitely in the works tomorrow!  It’s been a blast so far!
