For Joe fans who don’t check into the GI Joe Collectors’ Club forums, you can sometimes miss out on some nice little tidbits. For instance, this past weekend, Lanny revealed some awesome package art for the upcoming 3 3/4″ Adventure Team product that is supposed to debut at the Convention in Rhode Island this year.
That artwork is pretty damn stunning, I have to say.
Between the Red Shadows, Action Force, Dr. Venom, and the Adventure Team, this year’s Convention is gonna be a killer on the wallet, but I’m really looking forward to it. Check out the package art mirrored below as well.
Other tidbits from the GIJCC forums within the past few days… according to The Commander, the Red Torches will come with some different weapon assortments in the box! Sounds like they may not be straight-up flamethrower troopers. Also, the inclusion of Flint and Interrogator was most likely due to a dictation from Hasbro that they include a mainstream Joe and a mainstream Cobra in the Con set.

see this is exactly what the club should be doing, things like this the RED SHADOWS ,Action Force and the Argen 7 are things you would never get done by hasbro in the main stream store thing

I’m finding the lack of talk is directly related to a lack of interest combined with the fact that it’s a little harder to actually get these.
With all the different avenues they have taken with GIJoe now, story-wise and construction wise, there are a lot of different people collecting for all sorts of different reasons.
Me? If it isn’t 25th/modern day construction I’m not interested, I’ve sold 99% of my pre 25th figures. And given that, only Dr.Venom has enough of a place in my childhood memories for me to bother with the trouble of getting him.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they’re making these and if I was going to the convention I’d pick them up for sure, but as far as being figures I will hunt for….they’re just nothing that interesting.
Man, i surely have envy… i could never get my hands on these since i’m down here on mexico, hope i could get to a joecon someday, though.
Venom’s the only one I truly have interest in, but I wouldn’t mind the Jungle Adventure for use as Joe Colton with my 25th Joes.

Nas, if they do not sell out at the Convention, yes they will be available on the Club store. They will make their “debute” at the Convention.
Oh and I really like that card art! Using the coffin box artwork and turning it into RAH Card style is great!
