Tons of pics and mini-review of Rise of COBRA Cobra Commander Unmasked!

Friend of GeneralsJoes, cmderinchief has gotten his hands on the upcoming Rise of COBRA Cobra Commander and posted a terrific mini-review over at JoeBattleLines.  He also supplied a wealth of new images, including the FIRST EVER picture of COBRA Commander unmasked!  Trust me, it ain’t a pretty picture.  😉

I find myself agreeing with a lot of what Gary has to say in his little write up.  While this is about as far from “Cobra Commander” as I can think of, the figure itself IS pretty cool.  I love the little details, the sculpting on his face is incredible, and overall it’s a neat looking toy.  Just not sure I buy it as the leader of COBRA.

Reminder – Resolute on Teletoon Detour TONIGHT at 11:15pm!

For our Canadian brothers and sisters, you guys get a 24 hour advanced preview of the final ten minutes of Resolute tonight on TeleToon Detour.  I’ve seen everyone focusing on the Adult Swim airing tomorrow at midnight, but for Joefans to the North, let’s not forget you guys get to see it early.

11:15pm tonight, Resolute will rock Canada, and then it’ll travel down South tomorrow and finish the job.  I’m looking forward to it.

Nightly News Recap – DTC Rhino re-issue coming for Rise of COBRA toyline

On the other side of the World, TakaraTomy has revealed a surprising repaint in the form of the DTC Rhino vehicle originally produced for the new sculpt line a few years ago.  To see all of the awesome details of what I think was the best vehicle designed in the past ten years, check out my review here.

This is one fantastic vehicle, and I think it was a brilliant choice for release.  As an added bonus it comes with Rampage, who has some obvious strong Heavy Metal influences.  For folks who don’t know, Heavy Metal was (barely) repainted back in the 80’s as a mail away and released under the name Rampage.  It would appear Hasbro is dipping back into that pool, and the figure has some very strong vintage vibe.  Loving it.  Check out the image below and thanks to Type-R and Shin Densetsu of HissTank.com for the scoop!

Along with the image comes the news that TakaraTomy will be distributing the G.I. Joe: Rise of COBRA toyline over in Japan, which is a great news from an International standpoint.  Could Joe be going global again?  Certainly looks like it.
