The Doctor is in!

riseofcobra_doctor_smallFollowing on the heels of HalloweenCostume.com‘s huge list of Rise of COBRA themed character costumes, CostumeCraze.com debuts something that is likely to get them in hot water with Hasbro and Paramount.

Click on the image to the left to enlarge, and see “The Doctor” in all of his high res glory.  An apparent homage to Dr. Mindbender (as well as linked to many other spoilers that I will refrain from mentioning here) it’s tough to argue that “The Doctor” looks just…well… rediculous.  The blue monocle, the wrap around metal mask…man.  I’m giving Rise of COBRA a lot of leeway, but I’m sorry, I’m just not sold on The Doctor’s look.

CostumeCraze also has a bunch of other costumes and G.I. Joe accessories (some not featured on HalloweenCostume.com).  Check the rest out here.

Thanks to Destro at HissTank for the heads up!

Deth of teh line! Transformers: Animated done?

While just rumor for the moment, all the pieces are starting to fit together, and it’s sounding more and more likely that my favorite Transformers toyline since Beast Wars is fading into the ether with the coming of Revenge of the Fallen.

Honestly I was a bit concerned with the future of the line due to the arrival of Revenge of the Fallen this summer, anyway, since we all know Hasbro likes focusing on the movie stuff during the movie years.  But then came the announcement that the third season of Transformers: Animated would  be the last, which led directly into Toy Fair, where no one from Hasbro would confirm anything about the future of the show or the toyline in general.  That was all accentuated by the fact that Hasbro essentially showed us nothing of an Animated nature at Toy Fair (aside from the Deluxe Arcee).

HissTank.com reviews Rise of COBRA Wave 1 Heavy Duty

Destro from HissTank has posted a review of the Wave 1 Heavy Duty from the upcoming Rise of COBRA toyline.  A pretty typical offering with a mixed bag of good and bad…I am warming up to the movie toys, but this was pretty high on my list until the review, now I’m not so sure.  I may just wait and get the uniformed one when he finally shows up:

Storm Shadow is certainly following the trend set by Snake Eyes, COBRA Commander, and the COBRA Trooper.  A very impressive looking 12″ rendition of COBRA’s 1st Ninja Assassin.  Very cool.
