G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 9 to feature Zartan

As we eagerly await the second part of the 2-part origin of Snake Eyes tonight, more information has been revealed about an upcoming episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades, including an appearance by someone key to the Snake Eyes origin in the Marvel Comics.  According to TVGuide.com, G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 9 will feature Zartan!  Check out the description below:

“The Joes go on a mission to stop Zartan and his motorcycle gang from terrorizing a small town.”

We already knew the title of this episode was “Dreadnoks Rising” but now that we have confirmation of Zartan’s appearance, that makes it all the more exciting.  Of course, I really have to start wondering when we’re going to see Destro.
This is a great thing about this new reinvented continuity, you could be in for a surprise every week!  Looking forward to it.

Top Ten Storyline events in Real American Hero History

So news has been pretty light, and site updates have been sparse.  But I’ve taken the time to write something up that’s been rattling around in my head for a while now, and try to generate some discussion.  There’s been lots of debate and argument across the net recently regarding newer Joe concepts…how about going back in time a little ways and trying to debate some classic era discussions?
Since 1982 there have been many permutations of the G.I. Joe universe.  Obviously the two most impactful ones were the Marvel comic book and the Sunbow animated series.  But in looking back on nearly thirty years of history, which were the most impactful storyline “events”?  That’s not so easy to discern.
First of all, what does “impactful” mean?  An impact on the fandom?  The G.I. Joe mythology?  The general public?  I dunno.  I kind of went with my gut on some of these and chose the events that resonated with me personally.  I will tell you that #10 on the list was a tough call.  I had a hard time judging that one above some others, but in the end, I felt like the writer of this particular series deserved a spot on the list, and the events (plus the artwork) was important and cool enough to earn its place.
Anyway, check out the list after the break.  Agree or disagree in the comments section.  Debate is welcome!

GeneralsJoes Reviews PoC Wave 2 Jungle-Viper and Zartan!

Well, the two reviews on Friday left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth, so I gotta wash that out with two of the more stellar figures in the second wave of Pursuit of Cobra.  With these two reviews, the entire 2010 run of Pursuit of Cobra figures has been reviewed, and I’ve only got a pair of Alpha vehicles left to cover.
Actually, now that I think about it, I still have the Wolfhound I need to get posted, too, but I haven’t been able to drive myself to get that one done yet.  We’ll see.
Anyway, to check out the reviews of these two figures, you can hit up the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page or just check out the links below to go direct.

Great insight into the pre-production and production PoC figures

From someone who has a great perspective…  over on HissTank.com, Gyre-Viper has posted a nice, in depth look at some of the differences between the pre-production and production versions of the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra Zartan and Destro figures.  The images really lay out some of the obvious and subtle changes the figures made along their long trek to retail shelves.
I find this kind of stuff really fascinating, as you try and track down what  changes were made, why they were made and what the differences are.  So many things to consider that many of us don’t even think about.

G.I. Joe: Resolute Reviews – Complete!

As promised, I have wrapped up the reviews for the G.I. Joe: Resolute boxed sets, which can be found linked on the Resolute Review page!  Today I added G.I. Joe’s first Army Ranger Stalker as well as Zartan, the Cobra Master of Disguise!
Along with these last two figures, I also posted full review recaps of the G.I. Joe Boxed Set and the Cobra Boxed Set.  Enjoy!  This has been a whirlwind week of getting these reviews done, but it was fun…
