Three pages from upcoming Transformers vs. G.I. Joe #1 by IDW

Thanks to Entertainment News International for cluing us in to the fact that Apple’s iBook Store has posted a few pages from the upcoming first issue of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe by John Barber and Tom Scioli. I know it’s a style that isn’t for everyone, but I didn’t mind the #0 issue, and actually these three pages look pretty fun. I’m feeling some serious early Mike Vosberg vibes and that’s a fun thing.

Check out the three pages below.

GeneralsJoes Reviews Transformers and G.I. Joe #0 Free Comic Book Day Issue

Over the past few months we’ve been seeing some inkling of what this issue might shape up to be, and you can tell it’s something that will most likely be either loved or hated, depending on personal preference.  When you go headlong with such a unique artistic style, you’re going to necessarily alienate some folks who aren’t fans of that style, but at the same time, you hope to latch onto folks who appreciate it and perhaps reel in some others who might not otherwise check out a “licensed toy book”.

But as a diehard G.I. Joe fan (who also dabbles a bit in Transformers) what did I think?  My opinions after the jump.

Tom Scioli and John Barber talk to Comics Alliance about Transformers and G.I. Joe

Free Comic Day is fast approaching, and Comics Alliance took some time to talk to IDW Editor John Barber and writer Tom Scioli about the upcoming new ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe title.

Interspersed throughout the interview are some pretty neat looking preview pages of the upcoming title, with lots of great detail about the process both Barber and Scioli are using in sketching out their plan for the book.

It’s a great read, you should check it out over at Comics Alliance.
