G.I. Joe: Renegades "Homecoming" 2-Parter Reviewed and added to Episode Guide

How’s this for dedication?  Even among four separate Christmas events over the past 24 hours and preparation for a fifth tomorrow, I’ve got the latest two episodes of G.I. Joe: Renegades added to the Episode Guide!  Sure, they’re about 24 hours later than normal, but they’re there.
Truth is, the highlight of my week is doing these, and even though I made sure to carve out plenty of family time this weekend, I just had to put in some extra late night hours to get these posted.  Check out the full episode reviews with tons of video as usual at the links below.  As always, too, keep your browser pointed to the G.I. Joe: Renegades Supersite for the latest news and intel as it happens.
Merry Christmas!

For folks who don’t normally check out the Renegades stuff, you may want to…  Episode Seven featured the Renegades debut of Private Skoog (AKA Tripwire) and callsign Stalker-1 (AKA Stalker!).  A great 2-parter to be sure.

12 Days of Sideshow gives Joefans the goods

Sideshow Collectibles is currently holding a “12 Days of Sideshow” event, where they celebrate 12 secret product reveals for some upcoming Sideshow Collectibles items.  Well, we’re only on Day Two, and already Joe fans have quite the treat!
A quick look at the below image shows us a little sneak preview at an upcoming General Hawk figure!  But who is that behind Hawk?  Looks to be an African American…in a beret…  Stalker!  And, with Beachhead covering their flank, you can also see that the figure looking at them is none other than a Cobra Viper!
Wow.
Stalker, Hawk, and a Cobra Viper all revealed in one image.  Looks like 2011 could be another banner year for Sideshow.  The mirrored image is below, but you can also check out the 12 Days of Sideshow right here.

IDW Review Onslaught – G.I. Joe #23 and #24

So it’s the day after Thanksgiving, and while many folks are braving the crowds for “Black Friday” shopping, I’m taking some time to gather the last few releases of IDW comic books and trying to play “catch up” on some reviews.  I was surprised to find that I was actually a couple of months behind on  some of these.  How does that happen?
In recent months, I’ve been pretty hard on the main IDW G.I. Joe title, simply because I try and hold it to a higher standard.  While G.I. Joe: Cobra, G.I. Joe: Origins, and even stuff like Hearts & Minds should all be considered fringe titles, the main run is the run that should continue to breath life into this new G.I. Joe mythology, and while there was a really good stretch going there for a bit, it’s starting dragging just a bit again.
Well, I may be one of the only ones, but I was really looking forward to seeing what IDW was going to do with Agent Helix…and they finally introduced her in the main title in issue #23.  However, based on the 5-page preview I posted, I was immediately hesitant to buy in, simply because it was evident she was being designed as a new “super power”, even in her first appearance.  We’ve spent thirty years establishing what a bad ass Snake Eyes is, and here comes Helix in her first mainstream appearance, and she hands him his ass?  Well, I’m hesitant to base a character and an issue on only five pages, so I will review issue #23 and #24 below.  Click the “read the rest of the story” link below to check out these reviews, but be warned, spoilers will be evident.

G.I. Joe: Resolute Reviews – Complete!

As promised, I have wrapped up the reviews for the G.I. Joe: Resolute boxed sets, which can be found linked on the Resolute Review page!  Today I added G.I. Joe’s first Army Ranger Stalker as well as Zartan, the Cobra Master of Disguise!
Along with these last two figures, I also posted full review recaps of the G.I. Joe Boxed Set and the Cobra Boxed Set.  Enjoy!  This has been a whirlwind week of getting these reviews done, but it was fun…

Sideshow Collectibles G.I. Joe SDCC Video Online

Sideshow has done up a very cool video presenting their plans for the G.I. Joe license in conjunction with SDCC 2010!  You can view it on their site right here.
I also took some screen shots from some of the more interesting items shown, such as Dusty and Stalker 12″ figure designs, Cobra Commander and Baroness statues, and dioramas featuring Cobra Commander, the Crimson Guard, Roadblock and more.
Check out the screen grabs below, watch the video here, or just check out the embedded video below as well.
