G.I. Joe Collectors Club shows uniform for 12″ Convention Set

Another day, another 2014 Convention reveal!  While today’s image isn’t of the Real American Hero set, it could have potential implications for us fans of the small figures.

Today, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club revealed an awesome looking tiger stripe camouflage uniform for their 12″ “Codename: G.I. Joe” Convention set, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of G.I. Joe.  It’s got some terrific, intricate camouflage, and looking at other reveals, we have the familiar green beret as well.

So what does that mean for RAH fans?  Well, perhaps nothing, but considering a 4″ Joe Colton is going to be available as an exclusive, could this perhaps be an indication of what that figure might look like?  Just like Hasbro did in 1994, could the Collectors’ Club be celebrating the anniversary with 4″ and 12″ representations of this great green beret figure?

It’s certainly possible.  In ’94 there was a mail away for both a 12″ and a 3 3/4″ Joe Colton, it seems quite fitting that precisely 20 years later they might replicate that for the 50th celebration.

Check out GIJoeCon.com for the latest images, I’ve mirrored one of them below.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club debuts 2014 Convention ECO Force Flint!

They didn’t announce it would be coming today, but here’s a nice surprise! The G.I. Joe Collectors Club has debuted another figure from the 2014 Convention boxed set, and this time it’s the E.C.O. Force Leader, Flint! Sporting a rocking new head sculpt and new helmet, this figure looks pretty spectacular. I love the green and yellow paint scheme, and using the Resolute shotgun shells gauntlet for him is pretty inspired.

The integration of the 30th Anniversary parts and the Retaliation torso is an awesome move. Love the base figure here, it’s really, really nice looking.

Parts breakdown is:

Head – New
Torso – Retaliation Cobra Trooper
Arms – Ultimate Cobra Commander
Legs – 30th Anniversary Airtight
Helmet – A new sculpt, which according to Boss Fight Studios (the designers of it) is a “hybrid” of Flint’s and Ozone’s.

I love the shade of green… excellent, excellent work right here. Check out the full details at GIJoeCon.com.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club reveals JoeCon 2014 Steel Brigade Commander

True to their word, the G.I. Joe Collectors Club has revealed their latest 2014 G.I. Joe Convention exclusive, and it is the Steel Brigade Commander!  As folks have suspected, it is based on the concept case version of the Gold Head Steel Brigade figure.

While the head looks a little bit more yellow than gold in the image, I would suspect the final version ends up being more gold than what we see here.  Regardless, it’s good to see another figure, and considering this is now two figures with no new tooling, I suspect things will really start ramping up with the next few reveals.

Check out GIJoeCon.com and see the image mirrored below.

G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club announces 2013 Convention Parachute Drop… with KRE-ONS!

This press release hit my email box this morning, with the G.I. Joe Collectors Club officially announcing the parachute drop for the 2013 G.I. Joe Convention in Indianapolis!  One key surprise was immediately evident.  The parachute figure this year will be a KRE-ON.

For those of us who are into Kre-O sets and figures this is a pretty cool twist, although I will say part of me was looking forward to a typical 4″ G.I. Joe parachute figure as well.  Regardless, it will be very interesting to see what the Collectors’ Club has up their sleeve for Kre-O at JoeCon this year.

Charbroil’s head sculpt revealed on GIJoeCon Facebook page

Well, look at that!  You wouldn’t necessarily think so, but a slight change in hair color makes all the difference in the world.  It helps that this head has only been used with masked characters so far as well.

Yes, Charbroil uses the same head sculpt as the Rise of Cobra Aqua-Viper Officer and more recently as the Figure Subscription Service Dice, but with the red hair he looks like a totally different guy.  The G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club showed his unmasked head on their Facebook page.  It’s also mirrored below.
