G.I. Joe: Renegades new episode return pushed back a week

For fans of G.I. Joe: Renegades like myself, the date March 4th had been circled on the calendar as the next new episode.  According to MSN TV.com it was slated to be “Whiteout” and rumors indicated that perhaps Snow Job would be making an appearance.
This does not seem to be the case, however, as enterprising Renegades fan kennywr22 has checked his DirectTV listings, and the next episode is now not slated to air until March 11th.  The March 11th episode will be “Brothers of Light” featuring the debut of Tomax and Xamot!
This information does seem to jive with other things, too, considering we already saw a promo video for Brothers of Light, and already had an episode description for it as well.  According to the IMDB Episode Guide, Whiteout is now Episode 15, and will be airing after “Knock Offs”.
Thanks very much to kenny for this information!

One step closer to the "real" G.I. Joe: Renegades Zartan?

Fellow Renegades fanatic kennywr22 noticed that MSN’s G.I. Joe: Renegades page has updated with a description for another upcoming episode, this time, “Knock Offs”.

“The Baroness is transporting a high-tech suit to Cobra Commander.”

Now, on first glance, that looks like no biggie.  Fairly typical Cobra themed episode, eh?  Well…  let’s take a look at the character bio for Zartan shall we?

A ruthless biker gang-leading thug, ZARTAN becomes a valuable asset to Cobra (and an incredible threat to the G.I. Joe team) when he stumbles upon and becomes the only person who can wear an experimental Cobra “chameleon tech” suit — giving him the ability to perfectly mimic the appearance, voice, and mannerisms of anyone the suit comes into contact with.”

Hmmm… “Chameleon Tech Suit”?  Could this be the suit that The Baroness is delivering?  The title “Knock Offs” also seems to indicate some sort of copy of something else (as Zartan might be using the suit to copy another person).  Could this mean we’ll soon see Zartan as he was meant to be?  Let’s hope.  Knock Offs is slated to air March 18th.  Seems so far away!  Time will tell.
Thanks again to kenny for the information!

G.I. Joe: Renegades Mini-Marathon and Q & A

Facebook has been the place to check today, as The Hub has added some updates concerning G.I. Joe: Renegades to their excellent Facebook page.
First and foremost, they’ve announced a mini-marathon for G.I. Joe: Renegades that runs from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on The Hub.  According to the TV Listings on Zap2It.com, the episodes that are being aired are:

  1. Rage (Episode 3)
  2. Dreadnoks Rising (Episode 4)
  3. Busted (Episode 8)
  4. The Enemy of my Enemy (Episode 9)
  5. Homecoming Part 1 (Episode 11)
  6. Homecoming Part 2 (Episode 12)

This will hopefully get G.I. Joe: Renegades out in front of some more eyes and maybe give us some good news in March when it comes to finding out about renewals.
To celebrate this mini-marathon, The Hub’s Facebook Page has also posted a nice little Q & A session with some of the creators.  Check it all out right here.

G.I. Joe: Renegades has Transformers to thank for nice ratings boom

And hey, hopefully it will help expose more kids to the great universe of G.I. Joe: Renegades!
As we all know, Transformers: Prime returned to TV on February 11th, and while expectations were high for the return of the series, according to a Hub Press Release, Transformers went above and beyond those expectations, providing “massive time period increases versus prior four-week averages”.
Of course, with Renegades as a lead in, we had only great news for ratings for that show as well, which were “boosted significantly”.  I know that there is sometimes some strange antagonistic relationship between Joe fans and Transformers fans, but if Transformers: Prime is going to help get more exposure for G.I. Joe: Renegades, I’m all for it.
