by generalsjoes | Jul 25, 2010 | Canadian Joe Con, Exclusives, G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe Reviews
I originally typed up these reviews to be shown in the JoeCanuck newsletter, and they were from January – April of 2010. However, as the SDCC wraps up, and as the 2010 Canadian JoeCon is literally right around the corner, it seemed totally appropriate to reproduce this review on the site for my GeneralsJoes Review-A-Rama.
Originally the review was broken down into four separate issues, so if it seems a little disjointed, that’s why.
I hope everyone is looking forward to the 2010 Canadian JoeCon as much as I am… you can find all the information you need right here, and if the 2009 set is any indication, I think we’re in for some very cool convention exclusives this year!

On the eve of SDCC, another Convention is making headlines, this time the Canadian JoeCon, North of the border in Toronto. Over on the CanJoeCon Facebook page, they have debuted the comic cover for this year’s exclusive Convention Comic!
Check out the awesome cover below, done by art wizard Jason Loo.
I’ve had a chance (and privilege) to take a peek at this comic, and I think you guys are really gonna love it. It’s a fun read, and it will forever change the Canadian Joe Con universe. Definitely find a way to get your hands on one if you can’t make it to the Con. If you can, then scoop it up, it’s necessary reading!
For all of the details on the Canadian JoeCon, as usual, check out the website directly.

Well, ramping up towards the Convention, the July issue of the newsletter is now online! Filecards for some of the exclusive figures, pages from the convention comic book, and a great Canuckleheads comic all cram the pages, and it’s a terrific read.
Check out the latest issue as you prep for Canada right here, and as always hit up JoeCanuck.com and leave your feedback!

It’s definitely convention season! JoeCon has long since passed us by, San Diego ComicCon is stampeding towards us this weekend, and shortly thereafter, the Canadian JoeCon will be here! Located just North of the border in Toronto, the Canadian JoeCon is put on for Joe fans by Joe fans, and has grown to amazing heights over the past handful of years. Dealers, stars from the G.I. Joe brand, tons of fans, and exclusive figures are all there for the having.
The guys behind the Canadian JoeCon have just posted registration forms which you can find right here.
And be sure to keep your eyes glued to the site as well, because a little bird tells me that exclusive figure set images will start coming soon…
Looking forward to it!

In my rush to post the announcement for the JoeCanuck newsletter last night, I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t really talk about what was announced within the newsletter, and on the JoeCanuck message board.
Throughout the years at JoeCon, for whatever reason, the Collectors’ Club hasn’t elected to have any voice actors from the Sunbow cartoon available to interact with fans. They do it for Botcon, but I’m not entirely sure why they don’t do it for JoeCon.
Regardless, the Canadian JoeCon is making up for that by showcasing two of the more famous Sunbow voice actors at their show! Appearing in Toronto this year will be Zack Hoffman, better known as Zartan, and Mary McDonald-Lewis, who portrayed fan favorite Lady Jaye! These aren’t bit players in the G.I. Joe universe, they were some of the major characters brought to life in the Sunbow cartoon.
Don’t miss this terrific opportunity to meet some of your childhood idols! A great move by the folks at the Canadian JoeCon.
Another thing I neglected to focus on… the latest issue of the newsletter also showcases more figure artwork for Convention exclusive figures! A brand new character named “Hazard” is revealed…so check it out now!
