Anonymous Donor steps in to match pledges for Boss Fight Vitruvian HACKS Kickstarter!

Great news on this Saturday morning!

If you’ve been on the fence about contributing to the Boss Fight Studio Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter campaign, the time to get OFF that fence is now.

The folks from Boss Fight are reporting that an anonymous donor has said they will match every pledge up to $20,000 made between now and Friday (the final day of the campaign)!

So if you’ve been waiting to make sure your pledge counted, trust me, it counts now!  The quicker we can get to that $20,000 cap, the more momentum we’ll have going into the final days and the better chance we’ll have to get the Skeletons and STONE FIST!!! unlocked.

Spread the word, make your pledge now.  GO GO GO GO!

The days are winding down for the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter Campaign!

If you’re a G.I. Joe fan, you’re a fan of the guys from Boss Fight Studio, who have spent the last several years designing and sculpting some of your favorite Hasbro toys (including G.I. Joe). As you are likely aware by this point, they are running a Kickstarter Campaign for their new Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. toyline. These are highly articulated, highly customizable action figures, pulling from many different era’s and universes. The first assortment is from Greek Mythology, but they’ve promised some amazing stuff from Fantasy and Science Fiction as well.

As we speak right now, there are only NINE SHORT DAYS left in the Kickstarter Campaign. They stand at $187,000 +/- right now. But really, everyone has their eyes firmly on the Skeleton or Stone Fist stretch goals, which sit around $300,000 and $325,000.

NOW is the time to contribute! I know a lot of folks are waiting for some magic anonymous donor to come in and match pledges, but there’s no guarantee that’s going to happen. We need to show folks that there is interest here, and the best way to show that is to keep pledges coming in hard and heavy. Nine days towards $325,000 seems like a steep climb, but the end of the Kickstarter campaign is often the most frenzied, and I think we can do it. But we all need to step up NOW. If we’re too far away from the Skeletons when that last day approaches, it may keep others from kicking in. I don’t think we want that.

As a little nugget to encourage folks to sign on, Boss Fight Studio has revealed some great new artwork for the Naga Serpent Druid! This is a terrific concept that would be slated to come with their Fantasy line in Series 2. For obvious reasons there are a lot of things here to love for G.I. Joe fans. Check out the image below, and please consider contributing to the Kickstarter campaign, and doing it sooner rather than later.

Thanks!!

Fantastic custom project G.I. Joe: Resurgence has arrived!

I’ve covered many of Oreo Builder’s projects in the past enthusiastically…him and Bucky both have some great customizing talent, and I love what they’ve done with past projects, especially the ones focused on Battle Corps and the 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Well, now they’re jumping on something new and even more exciting (to me)!

Introducing G.I. Joe: Resurgence!

The year is 2015, and G.I. Joe has made its official return to retail with a whole new story and whole new series. With a mixture of familiar classics and brand new characters, Resurgence will simulate a whole new retail presence for G.I. Joe.

I was priviledged enough to write a few file cards for the project, and I think folks are really going to love it. Keep watching Oreo Builder’s Blog for updates and huge props to Oreo Builder, Bucky, GI Trekker, Dusty79, notpicard, and even Kirk Bozigian himself!

Two days have been posted so far, and they’re already a whole lot of fun. Make sure you keep watching for more!

Introduction

GI Joe: Resurgence

It is the year 2015. Following years of relative peace, the ruthless terrorist organization known as Cobra has resurfaced by staging several bold attacks on high profile targets all over the World. Returning to active duty, General Hawk enlists the help of his most trusted acolytes – Duke, Beachhead, Stalker and others. Together, they recruit a new group of soldiers and rebuild the World’s ultimate special operations unit: GI Joe.

Coming in 2015, GI Joe: Resurgence brings back famous GI Joe members from all eras and introduces many new faces to the team. It also marks the return of Cobra Commander and his army of evil henchmen bent on World domination! Collect them all and create your own battles.

Back to the drawing (and writing) board for G.I. Joe 3

Last year, shortly after the reported success of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, a third film was announced with Evan Daugherty writing and Jon Chu directing. In fact, we even heard from Chu himself a short while ago saying they were trying to polish up the script. Well, apparently “polishing” means scrapping the whole thing and starting over.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura already confirmed that Chu was no longer involved with the project, and now word has emerged from Variety that writer Jonathon Lemkin is handling script duties. Lemkin has some writing credits to his name, including Red Planet, Shooter, and Lethal Weapon 4, though no single project that really leaps out at me.

With a new writer, an incoming new director, and a film reportedly focusing heavily on Dwayne Johnson’s Roadblock, the next year or so should prove interesting in G.I. Joe movie news.

Confirmation that SDCC “Danger at the Docks” will be available at TRU after SDCC

I feel like I’ve had this conversation a number of times, but I know the lack of a real “official” report left the seed of doubt firmly planted in many fans’ minds. But rest assured, today Toys “R” Us has confirmed, via this section of their website that the G.I. Joe “Danger at the Docks” SDCC Exclusive will be available via TRU.com after its debut at the show.

So for folks who aren’t able to hit up ComicCon, this great looking set will be hitting the TRU website (and if past years are any indication, brick and mortar stores as well).

It’s okay to celebrate now! I’ve mirrored some great press images of the SDCC Exclusive Danger at the Docks set below.
