As we mentioned yesterday, September 16th brings us an episode of reality show Face Off focused on creating “Serpent Warriors” who could exist within the realm of the G.I. Joe universe! Well the preview for that episode was posted to SyFy’s website yesterday, and you can check it out now.
I’ve also embedded the promo below.

I know my coverage of the G.I. Joe: Battleground online game has been somewhat spotty, and I apologize for that. The latest Operation: Takedown event has just gone live, featuring some great new cards with Ripcord, Hydro Viper, Heavy Duty, Snake Eyes, and Super Trooper!!
Inside WarSim, the attack on entrenched Cobra forces in Nanzhao continues.
Can G.I.JOE strike a blow in Cobra’s burgeoning new power base, or will their thirst for vengeance after the loss of so many agents cause them to make a fatal misstep? With the new Cobra Commander gunning for them personally, the body count is sure to rise! But the Joes are undeterred, and elite agents Rip Cord, Heavy Duty, and Super Trooper take on the growing Cobra threat while the world’s greatest ninjas fly inexorably towards each other on a collision course years in the making! Who can say which Arashikage will be left standing after the dust settles on the Nanzhao Showdown, the exciting Takedown event on now!
Even cooler than this, though, is the current “Invite” card which is Agent Faces! I think it’s been that way for a little while, but I missed it until now. I love that the Spy Troops Agent Faces is the 1 star card and it can be promoted to the Agent Faces in Crimson Guard disguise. Fantastic.

After the sightings of G.I. Joe Kre-O Wave 5 in Utah last week there were some fandom concerns about the mysterious fourth wave of Kre-On mini figures, which has, as of yet, not been spotted. Well, for anyone wondering about the fate of that fourth wave, there is at least some indication that it has hit retail somewhere.
Last night an auction on eBay appeared for a complete fourth wave of G.I. Joe Kre-Ons, which was swiftly snapped up by an eagle eyed Joe fan. The auction was listed from Rhode Island, but to date has been the only confirmed sighting of the 4th wave of mini figures. Meanwhile, Wave 5 is getting relatively easy to spot on the online auction site.
So keep on hitting those Toys “R” Us stores, from the looks of it, Kre-O Wave 4 should be out there shortly, if it’s not already.
Thanks again to Edward G on Twitter for the info.

It seems like there’s a reality show for everything these days, but one has really stood apart from the crowd. “Face Off” is a show that pitches would-be special effects experts against each other in an attempt to win cash and prizes to support their career as an effects artist.
Each episode works around the idea of a “theme”, and apparently coming on September 16th Face Off will be presenting a “G.I. Joe” Theme. According to the SyFy Schedule of episodes, an episode entitled “Serpent Soldiers” will air on the 16th. The Wikipedia description says “Working for the G.I. Joe franchise, the artists use their talents to create snake-inspired super soldiers.”
The preview for this episode should air after tonight’s episode, so you may want to keep an eye open for that. Huge thanks to Twitter friend Twitziller for giving me the heads up, this will be one to watch!

This weekend, the Midwest will be under assault by agents from the Cobra Coil, and now they look to be joined by the infamous Red Shadow arms dealer “Weaponsmith”! The world thought Weaponsmith was dead, but it looks like the world was wrong!
An obscure character seen in the pages of G.I. Joe: European Missions #9, Weaponsmith joins Shrike as part of an exclusive 2-Pack for Coil Con attendees only. Designed and constructed by Coil mastermind Jon Cremeans, this great addition to the Red Shadows army comes with a weaponized jetpack. The two pack of figures with the jetpack will be $60.
Coil Con V hits the Wyndham Indianapolis Hotel on September 13th! With tons of fans, some great dealers, and guests (including Erik from Boss Fight Studio) it promises to be a great event for the entire family.

New comic day tomorrow! While we still have a little while to wait for the new #1 issue of Karen Traviss’ take on G.I. Joe, tomorrow brings us another installment in the fantastic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero continuation by Larry Hama and SL Gallant.
I can tell from the preview that this is going to be a fun one. Some definite shades of old school Marvel greatness in these first few pages. Check out the preview and details below.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #206
Larry Hama (w) • S L Gallant (a & c)
With Torpedo’s team barely escaping their mission with their lives, G.I. JOE takes a moment to honor the mission’s sole casualty. But COBRA gives the Real American Hero team no time to rest as they move their latest nefarious plot forward. Never a dull moment in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #206!
FC • 32 pages • $3.99
Bullet points:
· Sketch variant cover by Larry Hama!

Running a little behind schedule today, but managed to get the latest episode posted on Sunday as promised.
The G.I. Joe ECO Force has managed to overcome their zombie attackers, but in the motor pool, a pitched battle still wages. Destro certainly looks to have the upper hand, but looks can be deceiving…

Well, actually a couple of twists. First and foremost, the finding is from a retail Toys “R” Us in Utah, and reports that they have found Blind Bag Wave 5 in stores. So, the first question is… where is Wave 4? Perhaps Wave 4 is impending as well…
But the second and more pressing issue in my mind is there appears to be a lack of blind bag codes. This was reported on some Transformers Kre-Ons a short while ago, and unfortunately the tactic has officially passed along to the G.I. Joe side as well. I’m certainly not happy about it, and this will probably result in me just picking and choosing the loose figures on eBay or some other service. I don’t have a local Toys “R” Us, so I’m certainly not going to make a special 120 mile round trip just to buy an armful of Kre-Ons and hope I get the ones I want.
I kind of understand why Hasbro is doing it, but I don’t much like it.
Check out the image below and thanks to Edward G on Twitter for the info.
The fifth wave of G.I. Joe Kre-O contains the below list of figures, and a gallery from ComicCon can be seen right here.
- Zarana
- Bullet Man (!!!)
- Lifeline
- Outback
- Stinger Driver
- Dial Tone
- Techno Viper
- Ninja Ku
- Leatherneck
- Tele Viper
- Iceberg
- Battle Damage B.A.T.

I posted my review of the recently released Revoltech “Revolmini” Solid Snake a couple of weeks ago, but admittedly I wasn’t really sure exactly what the curiously shaped white object that came with the figure was.
Well, within moments of posting the review, I was thoroughly educated, and I’ve posted some new images and details in the Revolmini Review.
Essentially you can take off Solid Snake’s face and use the tool to change his eyes.
Yes, you read that right. You can take off Solid Snake’s face. Totally not creepy.
Actually, yeah, it’s pretty creepy. Check out the review right here, but don’t look too long at Snake’s faceless husk, it’ll haunt your dreams.
