First review posted for Sideshow COBRA Commander on HissTank.com

As the fantastic new 12″ COBRA Commanders are trickling in, expect more and more links to some thoughts around the web as I gather what public opinion is on these before deciding if I’m going to pull the trigger myself.  :shifty:

The first review comes to HissTank.com courtosy of member vadersquest.  Check out the review here.

My first thought?  A nice figure…the plastic hood looks a bit funky, but I’m not sure how they could do it any other way and still retain some dramatic effect.  A cloth hood would look sorta ridiculous.  Love the weapons, love the trenchcoat…  really liking the looks of it from afar.

Sideshow Collectibles 12″ COBRA Commander arriving in mailboxes everywhere!

We all knew the day was coming, and it looks like it has arrived.  The cool as hell looking Sideshow 12″ COBRA Commander is hitting mailboxes and looking AWESOME.  Very pricey, yes, but if he’s close to as awesome as the Snake Eyes was, then I think we’re in for some treats now and in the future.  If you ordered him, keep your eyes out for the mailman!

Sideshow Q & A reveals two G.I. Joe characters in the works!

Sideshow Collectibles has posted their latest Q & A, and among the questions asked was the following:

“Is there any chance that Beachhead and Firefly can be made for the G.I. Joe series?”

“Yes! Both Beachhead and Firefly are currently in development for our G.I. Joe line.”

Excellent news, in my opinion. Both of these characters are very well suited to the fully-equipped, “macked out” 12″ Sideshow style. Can’t wait to see ’em!  Click here to check out the full Q & A.  Big thanks to sinchicken from JoeBattleLines for the info!

Detailed new images of upcoming Rise of COBRA Ice-Viper

“Ole Faithful” cmderinchief from JoeBattleLines and the Coil Club has come through with lots of nice, detailed images of the COBRA Ice-Viper from the upcoming Rise of COBRA toyline.  The original thread on JBL can be found here, with a metric ton of images also mirrored below.  This one looks like a keeper!  Some awesome arctic-based COBRA Trooper action right there.

Detailed images of UK-themed Scarlett at Blood for the Baron

Regular GeneralsJoes contributor cmderinchief recently got his hands on an Action Force themed repaint of the 25th Anniversary Scarlett figure, and was nice enough to let Blood for the Baron break the story.  To this point it is unknown as to whether or not this figure will ever even see release, but it remains an interesting figure nonetheless.

Check out the thread here, and take a gander at the images mirrored below.

Upcoming Rise of COBRA Ice-Viper pics and auction on eBay

Long time overseas pre-production seller sicdunbine has posted an auction for a loose sample of the upcoming Rise of COBRA Ice-Viper.  What makes this auction unique is that there are some nicely detailed images of the COBRA trooper, including a shot of the visor and showing that it raises up to reveal a mask underneath.  Check out the auction (very reasonably priced!) here, and check out the images mirrored below.

Some DeviantArt coolness from Best of 80’s Battle Pack

An apparent  G.I. Joe concept artist, Bobba Vala, has posted some neat art to his DeviantArt page.  Looks like he did some input drawings for the various backpacks for the Best of 80’s Battle Pack (which, incidently, were some of the coolest parts from the set).  Check out his page here, and the images are also mirrored below.

Thanks, as usual, to Jeff Bohn for the info!

San Diego ComicCon Destro 2-Pack revealed!

Along with the images of upcoming vehicles on HissTank.com, toyssir898 also comes through with quite the coup!  We get a very detailed look at the apparent upcoming SDCC Destro 2-pack featuring a movie-accurate Destro in full business suit as well as one of his ancestors with his own unique mask and set of weapons.  What a GREAT looking set…I have a feeling this one is going to be damn tough to get a hold of after the fact.  Check out the original HissTank thread here, and the images mirrored below.
