So it’s been a while since I’ve talked about Marauder “Gun Runners”, and I figure I’m way overdue. I’ve been reading joy all over the internets about finding Rise of COBRA toys, but I’ve also been hearing some complaints about the accessories and the weapon choices. Well, as usual, Marauder can come to the rescue.
It took me like 10 minutes to find guns that totally rock the Rise of COBRA figures, and I’ve showed a very small gallery of those below. Weapons used in the images are:
There are so many other cool weapons that I could have used as well, but these were among the first four I grabbed. Do yourself a favor…if you pick up some RoC figures and don’t like the weapons, take 10 minutes and hit up Marauder…it’ll make your life better!
Alexx, one of my favorite picture takers from JoeBattleLines has snapped some images of the two initial COBRA Troopers from the G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA line, who are the Viper Commando and the Neo-Viper. He seems to have a fairly positive opinion of the Neo-Viper especially, which I must admit I don’t really share.
Honestly I’ve been absolutely nutty about every figure I’ve checked out so far, but I haven’t even been able to spend the money on one of the Vipers yet…perhaps when I get one in hand I’ll change my mind, but for now I’ll let Alexx tell their story for me. 😉 Check out the links back to the posts and the mirrored images below.
For a while there has been talk about the upcoming G.I. Joe Vs. COBRA: The Essential Guide from Pablo Hidalgo, and it turns out it hit retail quietly on July 7th. The book has a very strong focus on the core of G.I. Joe in the 80’s, pulling reference from the comics, toys, and cartoons, and even from the later Devils’ Due run as well. There’s fantastic art, tons of information, and lots to look at for any G.I. Joe fan. Check out the following links:
Another day, another daily Rise of COBRA review by Smokescreen, admin over at One-18th.com! This time around he covers the extremely awesome looking Paris Pursuit Storm Shadow. At first glance this figure looks rather superfluous, but after seeing him in action in various trailers and TV spots, this is a figure I GOTTA have!
Check out the mini hosted gallery below, complete with a link to the full review (which has a lot more pictures!). Good stuff.
Zak! Designs, which is a company who specializes in dinnerware and lunch bags is jumping on the “Rise of COBRA” bandwagon, clearly visible by their website here. As the months go on, fully expect to be absolutely inundated with G.I. Joe product from every aisle and corner of the store. I love this stuff!
Picking up where he left off with the Night Raven, Terror Drome staff member Dark 5cythe has come through with some very nice pictorial reviews of the Alpha class vehicles from the first assortment of The Rise of COBRA figures. I’ve mirrored a few of the images below, but also definitely hit up the links for the full allotment of images and the nicely written reviews!
It’s always tough to tell if the arrival date listed with the online retailers is 100% accurate, but apparently, the COBRA Island 7-Packs are indeed due to be released this month! Check out all of the details in the SmallJoes newsletter posted below.
The GIJoe Collectors Club newsletter has started to arrive in member’s home, and a small tidbit of information should make convention goers very happy. Folks who are fired up about the SDCC Destro (or the 12″ Baroness for that matter) but cannot make it out to San Diego will have an opportunity to buy the movie accurate Destro at JoeCon in August!
There is no indication of exactly how many will be available, but there will be something anyway. Good luck to all who attend!
Looks like today was the day… SmallJoes.com has launched their pre-orders for the upcoming Assault of COBRA Island and Defense of COBRA Island 7-Packs.
Man, I just can’t watch these enough. Totally rocking. Checking out these trailers and tv spots while tooling around with action figures that look like they were pulled straight from the screen… awesome!
