As usual, by examining the comic book/program that came with the boxed sets last night, you can get a decent idea of what the exclusive items might be once revealed tonight.
I’ve included some small images from the comic, and a run down of what we can probably expect.
Steel Brigade Pilot w/ VTOL
No real idea about the pilot himself, but a quick panel from the comic shows the Pursuit of Cobra Ghost Hawk, which is definitely a VTOL aircraft, so that would seem to answer that question. I wonder if it’s color scheme will be based off the Steel Brigade Sky Hawk from 2005?
Cobra Septic Tank MK II
Images from the comic show a DTC HISS! That is a pretty pleasant surprise, I suspect. We haven’t seen this vehicle since it was used in the DTC line, and it was a surprise to me to see that the Club may have used it for this convention set.
G.I. Joe Rescue Ops 2 Pack
Near the end of the comic, Clutch and an unnamed driver of an ECO Warrior themed Ninja Combat Cruiser appear! We see no mention of the Combat Cruiser itself, but we do see Clutch and a small hint of a driver, who almost looks to be wearing a knit cap? Perhaps these are the two “Rescue Ops” members?
Steel Brigade Zombie 3-Pack
I think it’s safe to assume these are based off the concept case figures, and they are shown throughout the comic as well.
Now, neither the Kre-O set nor Night Force Crazylegs were shown in the comic (unless that’s Crazylegs driving the jeep with Clutch, considering the PoC version had that knit cap underneath his helmet) but I think we can all assume what we’re getting there.
It’s still unknown to me whether or not Crazylegs is indeed the “Parachute” figure. It certainly seems likely, but the Club did not explicitly state that in the program. They did mention that he’s a “Paratrooper” so that really seems to lead that direction, though. Something tells me ole Crazylegs might be the sleeper hit this year. So the Club comic has been frantically grabbed by the rabid fanboys down here in Dallas, so there are some added details about the Convention Exclusives we can hope to see this year!
According to the Convention program, we will be getting:
- Steel Brigade Pilot w/ VTOL (LE800)
- Cobra Septic HISS Tank mk II (DTC HISS repaint by the looks of the comic art) (LE 800)

- Steel Brigade Zombie 3-Pack (LE 1,000)
- Kre-O Zombie Initiative 7 Pack (LE 600)
- Night Force Para Trooper Crazy Legs (LE 500)

That’s right, Joe fans! Starting tomorrow news and intel from the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention in Dallas, TX will start flying in. Tomorrow evening, around 8:30pm, Golden Ticket holders will be able to pick up their boxed sets, and contained within those boxed sets will be a convention comic with a price list for other exclusives expected at the show.
Once 8:45 – 9:00pm hits, expect the news to strike hard and fast and the rest of the convention exclusives will be revealed!
Then throughout the weekend, images, news, and details of this year’s JoeCon will start spreading. Keep it posted here and at YoJoe.com for the latest word. It’s been a bit of a break since we posted our last episode, and it seems like the world of G.I. Joe has turned inside out and backwards since then. Excitement about Toy Fair blitzed the online community, only to be defused by the rumor that Hasbro will not be in attendance at JoeCon, and an underlying uncertainty about the future of our favorite brand. We also had a chat with none other than BJ Ward, the voice of Scarlett from the Sunbow animated series!
Well, to celebrate the sure fire collapse of all toy related patriotism, Gary took a strike from the show and is absent from Episode 90. Actually, Chuck is, too, but we figured that was more due to laziness.
However, Mike and Justin called in the reserves as Dave from Toy World Order and the immortal Erik Arana from Boss Fight Studio joined us on the program! Check out the latest episode on Podbean or embedded below, and hit up the Show Notes after the jump.

As I was driving down to New Jersey this weekend, my phone started buzzing, indicating some serious social media activity going on. Obviously waiting until I was in a safe place to stop, I checked out what all the hub bub was about and discovered that indeed, big G.I. Joe news had broken on the weekend, and it was a weekend that I wasn’t going to be near a computer.
Ah, well.
So along with the last two figures of FSS 2.0 (two excellent figures, which have been unfortunately overshadowed by the drama surrounding figure #13) lucky recipients also got their hands on the mysterious “thirteenth figure”. And like every other G.I. Joe fan on the Internet, I will push aside Dragonsky and Big Bear, and focus my crosshairs on #13. However, I will do so after the jump so as not to reveal any spoilers.
