As the movie draws closer, the stars are speaking out, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays COBRA Commander in the upcoming film spoke with NBCBayArea.com about starring in the movie.
“[It was] really, really fun,” says Gordon-Levitt. “It looks badass. It’s that 8-year-old in me getting to be a f***ing cool-looking guy.”
Starring in it was evidently fun…will watching it be? I still think we’re in for a nice surprise in August, but time will tell… check out the full article here.

Black Sheep Toy Store has been specializing in fully painted pre-production samples, and even carded items, but they’re branching out a bit into the unpainted pre-production arena. Most of the items they’ve just listed have been seen before, but this Reactive Armor Ripcord is new. I mean, we all knew it was coming (just like it’s obvious that a Duke in Accelerator Suit will be showing up sooner rather than later), but it’s still neat to see. I actually really enjoy how Hasbro can take some very similar looks and change them up a bit. Even unpainted, you can see some of the structural and design changes that separate this figure at least somewhat from the many other armored figures that have already been seen. A pretty nice looking toy, all told. Check out the auction here and see the image below.

“Ole Faithful” cmderinchief from JoeBattleLines and the Coil Club has come through with lots of nice, detailed images of the COBRA Ice-Viper from the upcoming Rise of COBRA toyline. Long time overseas pre-production seller sicdunbine has posted an auction for a loose sample of the upcoming Rise of COBRA Ice-Viper. What makes this auction unique is that there are some nicely detailed images of the COBRA trooper, including a shot of the visor and showing that it raises up to reveal a mask underneath. Along with the images of upcoming vehicles on HissTank.com, toyssir898 also comes through with quite the coup! We get a very detailed look at the apparent upcoming SDCC Destro 2-pack featuring a movie-accurate Destro in full business suit as well as one of his ancestors with his own unique mask and set of weapons. Hisstank newcomer toyssir898 is already making a splash by posting some images of upcoming vehicles for the Rise of COBRA toyline. These all appear to be repaints and/or retools, but for the first time we get a look at a red repaint of the Smokescreen Sky Sweeper, a plane from several years ago. While the plane is nothing to write home about (it’s basically a badly squished Stealth F-117) it appears to come with a nice homage to the vintage COBRA Aero-Viper.
