GeneralsJoes reviews JoeCustoms JoeCon Exclusive Lt. Stone

Another day, another review…but maybe this one’s cheating, I dunno.
I wrote up a review for the Canadian G.I. Joe Collectors’ Newsletter about a month ago on the JoeCustoms Convention Exclusive Lt. Stone figure.  I’d always planned to get the review up on the site as well, just hadn’t gotten to it yet…  until now.
Produced for JoeCon on a yearly basis, some enterprising folks from JoeCustoms.com have taken it upon themselves to do up some custom figures, but you have to be at the convention in person to pick them up.  Of course, being the crazed Sigma 6 fan that I am, I was ecstatic to hear that Lt. Stone was getting the Real American Hero treatment this time around.
Check out the review in the Exclusives section, or just hit it up right here.
And if you want a chance to own one of these special figures in person, or just get to know the cool guys who make ’em, make JoeCustoms.com a regular hang out.  Trust me, you’ll learn something new every day.  Sometimes things you never even wanted to know.

Another reason to hit JoeCon… exclusive fan made Lt. Stone figure! W00t!

Every year for the past few years, JoeCustoms member Kamakura has gone above and beyond the normal fan interaction, and has actually produced a convention exclusive figure that he sells on his own at the annual convention.  Restricted mainly to JoeCustoms members, they retail for $30.00 and sell out FAST.
This year we’re getting a special treat…with a very nice 3 3/4″ version of everyone’s favorite Sigma 6 character, Lt. Stone!  The final version will have a semi-translucent green robotic arm, and while the parts choices are not something you’d typically think of, they work very nicely together.
Check out the image below, and if you’re a JoeCustoms member, hit up this thread to stake your claim!  I can’t wait.

GeneralsJoes "Top 50" G.I. Joe figures of the decade

Last week, Mike and I posted a Top 15 list for the last decade, outlining our top 15 figures of the past ten years, and I let readers know that my initial list was actually a top FIFTY, but for obvious reasons, we pared it down simply because…well…a  top 50 list would have been long and probably insane.  But mostly just long.  But a few readers showed an interest in seeing the Top 50 list, so I’m going to post what I was originally starting.  I won’t go into gory details with each and every entry, though, and just leave it as a list, so folks don’t go homicidal halfway through it.
Continued after the jump…

Kick Ass Customs – Mysterious Stranger’s Rise of Sigma 6!

This is Mysterious Stranger’s second time in the Kick Ass Customs feature, and I think most folks will understand why this particular project appeals to me so much.  I really love the similarities between Sigma 6 and the Rise of Cobra, and Stranger brings them all together quite well here.  Not only that, but he comes up with a very cool story as well.

For the full skinny, check out his post on JoeBattleLines, and I’ve also mirrored the images below.

Sigma 6 Celebration Day 7: Adventure Team Dusty Review

I’ve been promising a surprise throughout this whole Sigma 6 Celebration, and unfortunately the “surprise” is a bit dilluted, just because this figure has shown up on HissTank.com while I was in the planning stages of this big “reveal”, but still, I think folks will enjoy this in depth typical GeneralsJoes format review for the unproduced Adventure Team Dusty!

A great figure that unfortunately never saw the light of day, anything you could want to know, you can now find out!

Enjoy!

Sigma 6 Celebration Day 6: Season Two Recap (Part 2)

Well, this rounds off the GeneralsJoes “Sigma 6 Celebration”.  I hope folks who are fans of the toyline enjoyed it, and I hope those who aren’t weren’s too put off by it, and maybe even found some redeeming characteristics buried within.

Obviously if you’re at this point, you’ve probably been reading all along, and have already perused the Season 1 Recap (Parts 1 and 2) as well as the first part of the Season 2 recap.  So far I’ve covered the animated series as a whole all the way up through Episode 9 of Season 2.  I’m actually somewhat surprised at myself for being able to stomach this out, because quite honestly I’m not a fan of the animated series.  While there were snippets of cool action, and I always love seeing my toys come to life on the screen, as a whole the writing was painful, the dialog abysmal, and some of the characterizations were straight out of the worst stereotypes I can imagine.  Yet some part of me enjoys the Sigma 6 universe so much, that it seemed a shame not to at least touch on the animated series to at least a degree.  And at this point, I’ve gotten this far, might as well wrap it up.
