Yesterday was a somewhat rough day for reviews… with the Pursuit of Cobra Storm Shadow, I was pretty disappointed in the entire package. I thought maybe diving into Hama’s normally fun Real American Hero series might end the day on a high note. Unfortunately, I felt pretty underwhelmed about Issue #160 of that series as well.
Not willing to accept defeat that easily, I decided to jump right into Issue #161 of the Real American Hero title, as I was pretty impressed by what I saw in the 5-page preview. You know what? I’m really glad that I did. The last issue left a bad taste in my mouth, but the series redeemed itself in a very big way with issue #161, and I hope this is the start of a new trend and not simply an exception to the rule.

Okay…yesterday’s review of Storm Shadow was painful for all of us…I just couldn’t let that be the only review of Wave 3 Pursuit of Cobra figures for any longer than absolutely necessary. I figured I started with one extreme yesterday, so I’d plunge right into the other extreme here.
It’s unfathomable to me that this figure and Storm Shadow are even part of the same toyline, not to mention the same exact WAVE of figures. Unbelievable.

Yes, I know Issue #161 hits comic shops tomorrow…that ones coming, too, I promise.
I figured I should play catch up a bit at least first.
The frenetic, crazed continuation of the original Marvel G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero title rushes on, full speed ahead, and shows no sign of letting up, for better or worse. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride getting to this point, but as we appear to sort of wrap up this first “arc”, I find myself growing just a bit tired of “business as usual” in this particular title.

Well, it feels like forever since there were new toys to review! I’ve spent so much time with G.I. Joe: Renegades, that I felt it only appropriate to get these Pursuit of Cobra reviews out as soon as humanly possible to avoid fandom revolt for folks who are sick and tired of the latest G.I. Joe animated adventures.
My goal is to post one review per day of Wave 3 from now until Friday. First up is Storm Shadow… yeah, I’m starting with him. It can only get better from here, right?

Big thanks to The Terror Drome for digging up this nugget from the MSN TV Listings…while they’ve kind of been leaking things one little episode at a time, they’ve now updated a plethora of new titles for upcoming G.I. Joe: Renegades episodes, and one of them promises a “Rise of the Dreanoks”!
Where Transformers: Prime is taking a bit of a break between now and February to reload it’s library of episodes, G.I. Joe: Renegades will continue full steam ahead, bringing us apparent new content straight through at least February 4th, 2011. There will be a missed week here and there, but by and large, we won’t stop for a while yet.
Check out the full listings of episode titles and air dates below. Certainly some intriguing titles to go on… can’t wait to hear more!
Episode 8: Rage – January 7th, 2011
Episode 9: Dreadnoks Rising – January 14th, 2011
Episode 10: Busted – January 28th, 2011
Episode 11: The Enemy of my Enemy – February 4th, 2011
At this point we can only hypothosize as to what some of these episodes might contain. It will be a hell of a lot of fun to uncover. Keep in mind, too, some of this might change…but so far MSN has a very good track record.
