HasbroToyShop has Wave 5 up for pre-order NOW!

G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA Wave 5 has been listed on HasbroToyShop for a while, but only as “Coming Soon”…well, this morning, the pre-order gates have opened!  Each figure (including the spectacular City Strike Snake Eyes) are now up for pre-order.  Looks like figures will begin shipping October 19th, but judging by how much in demand Snake Eyes seems to be, you may want to jump on this boat early at a decent price.

Don’t forget to use gijoe10 for a 10% discount!

The really exciting thing about this to me, is that it sounds very much like the awesome Pursuit of COBRA stuff will start hitting late this year…can’t wait for that.  Go get ’em!

City Strike Snake Eyes reviewed!! Night Adder, Kamakura, etc… as well

I’ve been getting a smattering of new assortments at my house coming here and there and have posted some reviews for your consumption!  The highlight is by far Snake Eyes (City Strike) so he gets top billing, but that’s not all that I’ve got posted.  I also slightly revamped the Rise of COBRA Review Page because I wasn’t especially happy with the layout.  Check out the reviews below!

  1. Snake Eyes (City Strike)
  2. Kamakura
  3. Night Adder
  4. Red Fang Ninja

Is City Strike Snake Eyes as good as everyone thinks he is?  Yes, yes he is.

New toys are a’comin… BBTS has Wave 5 IN STOCK NOW including Snake Eyes!

Hot on the heels of HasbroToyShop and BigBadToyStore receiving their shipments of Rise of COBRA Wave 4 figures, it looks like Wave 5 is hitting as well!

HasbroToyShop.com has each figure listed as “Coming Soon” (including the much anticipated City Strike Snake Eyes), and I just received notification from site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store, that my pre-orders were being filled for the same assortment!  I’m not even done with the reviews for the last assortment yet!

Latest JoeCanuck Newsletter is online in all its silent glory…

Damn, has it been twenty-one issues already?  Once a month for nearly two years?  Yeah, I guess it has, and a big kudos goes out to the JoeCanuck guys for the blood, sweat, and tears that they put into this free newsletter on a monthly basis.  They continue to raise the bar for fan-based publications, and this issue is no different.

As you should expect, the number “21” has a certain distinct meaning to any Joe fan, and the JoeCanuck folks took that to heart with their latest newsletter, and did an AWESOME job of it.  I was smiling the whole way through.

Check out the latest issue right here, and find any back issues you want at their site as well.  Also, be sure to stop by JoeCanuck.com and let them know how you liked it!

Some more peeks at upcoming Wal-Mart Battle Station packs

Rulz over at HissTank adds two more Battle Stations to his COBRA Surveillance Port and has posted some very nice pictorials with a few details that we may not have seen.  This time around, he showcases the Outpost Defender w/ Roadblock and Tripwire as well as the Laser Artillary Weapon with General Hawk and Grand Slam.

Once again I feel like these miss the boat a bit.  It’s great seeing the Resolute Roadblock, but those colors are pretty horrible.  The mustard yellow and strange hybrid desert camouflage just doesn’t really work to me.  Tripwire looks okay, but he looks a lot like Grand Slam, only with some tiger stripes slapped on.  They seem pretty random, and he doesn’t come close to matching the actual Tiger Force version of the character, so I’m not entirely sure why they’re there.

I absolutely love the single pack General Hawk, so it’s cool to see him here with green camouflage legs, but did we really need yet another Grand Slam on the shelves at the same time as the Target exclusive version?  The guy got two versions in twenty-five years, and now we’re working on his fourth in two years, and his second in a matter of weeks.  What really stinks is none of them really looks that different from another…except for the fact that they have different heads.  Odd.

The Battle Stations themselves look okay…I really like the sandbags and the overall look of the Outpost Defender, and the LAW is actually growing on me somewhat, but neither of them really screams “Buy Me!” at the $18.00 price tag.  Check out the mirrored images below.

Toys “R” Us Exclusive Attack on the Pit found at retail!

HissTank member Dr. Phd. has found the TRU Exclusive Attack on the Pit multipack at his local Toys “R” Us store!  Retailing for twenty-six dollars, it features a whopping five figures plus a COBRA Mole Pod vehicle.  A GREAT deal, I gotta say.  In detail, the set comes with:

  • COBRA Neo-Viper
  • COBRA Neo-Viper Officer (Neo-Viper with MARS Webgear)
  • Duke (Desert Uniform)
  • Ripcord (Spandex and gray camouflage)
  • G.I. Joe Pit Trooper (green camouflage)
  • COBRA Mole Pod

Wow.  That is a LOT of stuff for $26.00.  A great deal.  I really dig those Neo-Vipers, I like that Ripcord, and the Pit Trooper.  I really don’t like that Duke and those weird colored forearms, but every other figure is great.  Check out the pictorial evidence below.
