A couple of folks had questions about certain elements of the two reviews I mentioned above, so I took a couple extra pictures to show case some things. People were inquiring about the look of Breaker using Duke’s body, so I whipped something up really quickly. I did the best I could without cutting off his belt. I also did a comparison image with recent Cobra Troopers that folks had been asking for.

Talk about opposite sides of the spectrum! I spent the last few days reviewing $6.00 discount store figures, and now I’m jumping to a high-end 12″ collectible item. Just goes to show you how many different markets G.I. Joe is hitting this year.
I’ve dabbled in the Sideshow Collectibles line a bit over the past couple of years, and with Hot Toys releasing some stunning looking G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures this year I thought I’d revisit the 12″ scale and get my perceptions in line before those become available. Continuing on with the “running change” versions of those exclusive figures that came out last year is Duke! This Duke is a dark gray instead of the green that we got last year. If I didn’t know better, I’d almost think they were going for a Sunbow version of Breaker homage.

I remember like it was yesterday… the frantic post-G.I. Joe: Retaliation meltdown where everyone was convinced G.I. Joe was dead, the Dollar General exclusives were getting recalled, truly Deth of teh line!11! Here we are a little less than a year later with a good chunk of pretty cool product to look forward to. Included in that product is the “running change” versions of the aforementioned Dollar General figures. So far being spotted in places like Marshall’s and TJ Maxx, these figures promise to be a bit more available than the previous ones.
