GeneralsJoes and Mysterious Stranger team up on Sideshow Cobra Viper review

I have unfortunately been sitting on this figure and this review for quite a while as other things just continued to come up in the world of G.I. Joe.  But with Sideshow Collectibles letting out rumors that they would be revealing a potential new G.I. Joe item this week, I thought it was a good time to get this review posted!

I was already working on a Cobra Viper review myself when Mysterious Stranger sent his in to me, so I figured we’d do the best of both worlds and just team up on the thing.  We each provided images, we each provided text, and the end result can be found in my Sideshow Collectibles review category and also at the link below.  Enjoy!

Guest Review – Sideshow Collectibles Rock n Roll by Mysterious Stranger

Unfortunately as I’ve mentioned many times in the past a majority of the Sideshow Collectibles’ offerings are simply out of my price range.  Thankfully I have some good friends who devote some serious money and time to the Sideshow line and eagerly provide me with reviews for the site.

This makes me very happy.

The unique thing in this case is that long time friend of GeneralsJoes Mysterious Stranger has been a huge fan of Sideshow’s offerings and also claims Rock n Roll as his all time favorite G.I. Joe character.  So posting his review here only makes sense.  Check it out in the Sideshow Collectibles Reviews category, or the direct link below.

And posting this makes me realize that I really need to dedicate a specific page to Sideshow reviews and not just the category.  They need to be easier to find.

GeneralsJoes Reviews the G.I. Joe: Retaliation HISS w/ Cobra Commander

Already causing some conflict within the G.I. Joe fandom, the G.I. Joe: Retaliation vehicles continue to be a conundrum to me.  Somewhat cheaper feeling plastic, figures that only move at five points of articulation, yet still sporting some very nice improvements on previous releases, and pretty fun vehicles all told.

But do some improvements justify the cost of these new vehicles?  In some cases no (you can probably tell which ones I have not been able to justify by the fact that reviews have not been posted on the site yet…) but in some cases, yes.  Which category does the HISS fall into?  Check out my G.I. Joe: Retaliation Review Page or just hit the link below to find out.

GeneralsJoes Reviews IDW’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #179

Ugh, I’ve been lagging again.  With the furious onslaught of G.I. Joe: Retaliation news and so much other stuff happening in my personal life and the fandom, I’ve just lost step a bit with my IDW reviews, but I’m going to endeavor to get back up to speed if at all possible.

Hopefully no one thinks a lack of reviews is any indication of my enjoyment of what IDW is doing, because it is not.  I’m still thoroughly enjoying the roller coaster ride of the Real American Hero title especially, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little bit happy to see this Blue Ninja saga coming to an end.

GeneralsJoes Reviews Shout! G.I. Joe: Renegades Season 1 Volume 1 DVD

Hot off the presses, this 2-disc DVD set is being released to the masses today, and GeneralsJoes has your review right now!  As a self-professed G.I. Joe: Renegades fanatic, I was quite excited for one of my favorite animated series to finally see DVD release, even if it’s only the first half of the first season.

Check out the review of this great series at the link below!

GeneralsJoes Reviews the San Diego ComicCon Jinx figures!

The movie is pushed back to 2013, G.I. Joe: Renegades is long gone, and by all accounts, mass retail toy shelves are going to be barren for the next 6 – 8 months.  Deth of teh line!!1!

But wait…there is a light on the horizon in the form of the San Diego ComicCon figures (and vehicle) that should hit the West Coast shortly after JoeCon this year.  For this year’s action figure offerings, Hasbro is going back in time, and now forward in time to bring us some great representations of G.I. Joe ninja finance clerk Jinx!  We have the red version taking us back to better days of 1987…well, except for that whole Cobra La thing.  And we’ve got a white version sporting a head sculpt looking very much like Elodie Yung who represents Jinx in the film, now coming out in nine months.  The whole time continuum is collapsing!

I struggled a bit with where to put these reviews, but since the packaging is very 25th Anniversary themed, that’s where they are.  So check out my 25th Anniversary Review Page, or just hit the links below!  A big thanks to Gyre Viper from the JDSO Podcast and Jay from Carded Heroes for spreading the love a bit and letting me get these reviews out there.  Enjoy.
