GeneralsJoes Reviews IDW’s G.I. Joe #2 (Season 3)

I’m not sure how I feel about the whole “season” breakdown when it comes to comics, but it does help keep things straight, especially when three major restructurings have happened over the past few years.  Considering IDW has been keeping the same continuity, the only way things can really be divided is by “Season” so in that regard I think it makes sense.

Issue #1 worked towards building this new “universe” so to speak, and now that G.I. Joe is in the thick of it, this issue serves to continue moving the story along a bit, while also trying to build some of these new personalities.

Very cool action web series concept – Armed Response on YouTube

As soon as I got this press release in my mailbox, I was at least a little bit intrigued.  Labeled as being from a writer on “24” and “Clone Wars” I knew at least the action component of this new series would be pretty solid.  It’s a fun new concept, taking what is very much a first-person shooter Point of View and putting it to film.

Footage is seen via helmet cams and security footage as a Homeland Security response team meets up with a Mexican cartel.  Lots of action, lots of gunfire.  Seems like something G.I. Joe fans just might be interested in.  Featuring actors from such acclaimed series as Dexter, The Unit, Heroes, and Prison Break, this is a high quality, high octane web series that I think folks will enjoy.

Check out the first four episodes at the “Hardcoded” YouTube channel, and the press release is after the jump.

Comic Book Resources takes a peek at upcoming Cobra Files from IDW

Coming up Wednesday, we get our first look at G.I. Joe: Special Missions (not to mention issue #2 of the main G.I. Joe title), but as of right now, we are also getting our first glimpse into the mind of Mike Costa as we prepare for The Cobra Files, IDW’s upcoming next iteration of the Cobra title that’s been running for several years.

Continuing the adventures of Flint, Lady Jaye, Chameleon, Ronin, and the whole secret Black Ops division of G.I. Joe, Cobra Files takes the Joe universe in ways that folks might not expect.  And don’t expect any more punches pulled this time around either.

Mike Costa puts out a fantastic interview, and we get a peek at some preview pages as well, including the return of a classic Cobra character!  Check out all the details on Comic Book Resources.

IDW G.I. Joe solicitations for June, 2013

I love these solicitations… it’s great to take a look into the future and see what’s coming from IDW Publishing in the coming months, especially with this new “generation” of G.I. Joe, so to speak.  IDW Publishing has released their solicitations for June, 2013, which covers some very cool looking books from the G.I. Joe title, Special Missions, Cobra Files, and of course G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.

Excellent stuff to look forward to.  Click the “Read the Rest of the Story” link below to see the full list of solicitations.
