Exclusive First Look at a grizzled Captain Eagle from the return of Eagle Force!

When the whispers first came of a return of 1980s Mego property Eagle Force, I was intrigued.  Debuting in the early 80’s the original Eagle Force was a die cast line of 2.5″ action figures that unfortunately hit retail just as Mego was going under, and as such, never had a chance to truly reach their potential.

There is some crossover appeal between Eagle Force and G.I. Joe, as various customs have appeared throughout the community celebrating those die cast figures.  But honestly, I hadn’t had an attachment to them as a child, so while I was intrigued, that’s about as far as it went.

Then the rumors started circulating that they would be 4″ military figures, and would feature modern construction and be highly articulated.  Okay, my “intrigue” just went full on into “anticipation”.

Finally, the word came out that not only would Eagle Force’s return feature a 4″ modern military aesthetic, but they would also be designed and sculpted by Boss Fight Studio?  Well, if there’s a stronger word than “anticipation” I now had it.  I’ve been eagerly camped out at the Eagle Force Returns Facebook Page, just waiting for some new information to hit and now I’m very proud to say, thanks to the folks behind Fresh Monkey Fiction, I’ve been allowed to reveal the first ever look at Captain Eagle from the exciting Eagle Force return!

To say that he’s everything I hoped for would be a massive understatement.  This is a guy who has been through the ringer and has come back for more.  It’s immediately apparent that RIOT has made their presence known again, and Captain Eagle must come back into action to do battle for the safety of the world!

A joint venture between Fresh Monkey Fiction and Zica Toys, with design and sculpting by Boss Fight Studio, the return of Eagle Force certainly looks like something to celebrate in 2015!  Do what I’ve been doing and set up shop at the Eagle Force Returns Facebook Page and at EagleForceReturns.com and keep those eyes peeled, because if this first piece of concept art is any indication, we are in for one hell of a ride next year.  The Kickstarter will be launching in Q2 of 2015, and I’m already starting to save my pennies.

What’s on Joe Mind Episode 95 is online! We talk about it all in this one

I know a lot of folks have been commenting that we don’t record new episodes nearly as often as we used to… but the good side of that is, when we do, they end up being 3+ hour marathons covering all sorts of different topics! Episode 95 certainly falls into that category, talking Boss Fight Studio, the late Don Levine with business partner Kirk Bozigian, and voice actor Michael Dobson. Expect the same level of back and forth blather, and relive the excitement of the final 36 hours of the Vitruvian HACKS Kickstarter campaign.

Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. “Ghosts of the Battlefield” unlocked – Accessory sets coming up!

It’s a truly exciting time for folks following the Vitruvian HACKS Kickstarter campaign. The “Days Remaining” have officially converted to “Hours Remaining” (a relief, I’m sure for folks who are tired of seeing it everywhere) and the next stretch goals on the docket are accessory packs!

Unlocked late last night was the “Ghosts of the Battlefield” Two Pack, an exciting set of Glow in the Dark warriors who are arch enemies, trapped in an endless “undead” world. Now, for folks who have gone “All In” we have some great accessory sets for all the ‘Blanks’ you’ve now amassed.

The great thing is, too, once the first Accessory Set is unlocked, it’s only a $5K gap between them so expect stretch goals to fall quickly as we ramp up towards STONE FIST!! Who knows, we may see other exciting stretch goals revealed within the last few days as well.

Anonymous Donor steps in to match pledges for Boss Fight Vitruvian HACKS Kickstarter!

Great news on this Saturday morning!

If you’ve been on the fence about contributing to the Boss Fight Studio Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter campaign, the time to get OFF that fence is now.

The folks from Boss Fight are reporting that an anonymous donor has said they will match every pledge up to $20,000 made between now and Friday (the final day of the campaign)!

So if you’ve been waiting to make sure your pledge counted, trust me, it counts now!  The quicker we can get to that $20,000 cap, the more momentum we’ll have going into the final days and the better chance we’ll have to get the Skeletons and STONE FIST!!! unlocked.

Spread the word, make your pledge now.  GO GO GO GO!

The days are winding down for the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter Campaign!

If you’re a G.I. Joe fan, you’re a fan of the guys from Boss Fight Studio, who have spent the last several years designing and sculpting some of your favorite Hasbro toys (including G.I. Joe). As you are likely aware by this point, they are running a Kickstarter Campaign for their new Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. toyline. These are highly articulated, highly customizable action figures, pulling from many different era’s and universes. The first assortment is from Greek Mythology, but they’ve promised some amazing stuff from Fantasy and Science Fiction as well.

As we speak right now, there are only NINE SHORT DAYS left in the Kickstarter Campaign. They stand at $187,000 +/- right now. But really, everyone has their eyes firmly on the Skeleton or Stone Fist stretch goals, which sit around $300,000 and $325,000.

NOW is the time to contribute! I know a lot of folks are waiting for some magic anonymous donor to come in and match pledges, but there’s no guarantee that’s going to happen. We need to show folks that there is interest here, and the best way to show that is to keep pledges coming in hard and heavy. Nine days towards $325,000 seems like a steep climb, but the end of the Kickstarter campaign is often the most frenzied, and I think we can do it. But we all need to step up NOW. If we’re too far away from the Skeletons when that last day approaches, it may keep others from kicking in. I don’t think we want that.

As a little nugget to encourage folks to sign on, Boss Fight Studio has revealed some great new artwork for the Naga Serpent Druid! This is a terrific concept that would be slated to come with their Fantasy line in Series 2. For obvious reasons there are a lot of things here to love for G.I. Joe fans. Check out the image below, and please consider contributing to the Kickstarter campaign, and doing it sooner rather than later.

Thanks!!
