The past few days have brought some exciting news about the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Kickstarter from Boss Fight Studio, and everyone supporting it deserves a huge round of thanks!
A few milestones to talk about…
First of all, the latest stretch goal was reached early yesterday, and the first four “Blank Figures” are now unlocked! This includes the very popular “Python Purple” female.

Also announced was that at 700 Backers, Boss Fight Studio will be adding the exciting Amazon Warrior to the Kickstarter. It stands at 604 backers right now, we need another 96. Spread the word! This Amazon will be available to purchase at $25 for anyone who has pledged at least $115, and will be included with the “All In” pledges as well! GO GO GO!

The next stretch goal to watch for stands at $150,000 which will give us King Leonidas himself as well as the “Black Racer” Gorgon Warrior. Two exciting Wave 3 figures! Let’s make this happen! With each Stretch Goal unlocked that only makes the $500 “All In” option an even better deal, so let’s unlock these stretch goals, boost some pledges, and capitalize on it!

Err, actually no. There’s no more. There’s just Slice. But sometimes that’s enough.

Especially when he’s as amazingly bad ass as this figure is. NINJA FORCE GREATNESS.
Honestly, I’ve never been really attached to the ninja elements of G.I. Joe (one of the few things that didn’t capture my attention as a youth, aside from Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes) but I always thought the Ninja Force figures had some incredible designs unfortunately weighed down by clunky play features. Slice is everything great about the 90’s look with none of the draw backs. Great stuff.

by generalsjoes | Jun 18, 2014 | G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe 3
Just about 24 hours after ComingSoon.net got that glimpse of the G.I. Joe 3 banner, we now have confirmation from Paramount Senior VP Edward Ryan that the current plan is for the third G.I. Joe film to hit theaters in 2016.
No other information was given, though this fits with a timeline that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson mentioned a few months ago saying that filming would begin at the start of 2015. In that same interview, The Rock also indicated that Jon Chu may not be returning to helm the film, so time will tell how it all shakes out.
Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the info.

With thanks to Comic Book Resources for the initial announcement, IDW Publishing has named Karen Traviss the writer for their upcoming relaunch of the G.I. Joe comic.
G.I. Joe comes back to the front lines in September, featuring a team led by Scarlett in a story arc called “The Fall of G.I. Joe”. According to the solicitation Cobra is now positioned as the “good guys”, becoming a new world peace keeping force and Scarlett needs to hold together the scattered remnants of the G.I. Joe team. Steve Kurth will once again be handling the art chores.
I like the idea of Karen Traviss being tapped as the writer. She has a long and established history of science fiction and military writing, including properties like Star Wars and Halo, not to mention she’s a #1 New York Times Bestseller.
To see some of her work, check out her Author Page on Amazon.com
