Okay…yesterday’s review of Storm Shadow was painful for all of us…I just couldn’t let that be the only review of Wave 3 Pursuit of Cobra figures for any longer than absolutely necessary. I figured I started with one extreme yesterday, so I’d plunge right into the other extreme here.
It’s unfathomable to me that this figure and Storm Shadow are even part of the same toyline, not to mention the same exact WAVE of figures. Unbelievable.
Anyway, check out the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page, or click the link below to check out the review.
Great figure. However, the only thing that bugs me is his gray kneepads which make him seem off-balanced. If they had made his elbow pads the same color gray I don’t think I would mind it. As is, the gray just seems to pop out and not blend well with the rest of the figure.
AWESOME. This is what Wave 7 VvV Snake Eyes should have been. In fact, that’s finally his replacement. I’ll try to say it now…who’s to say if it’ll stay true…but I THINK this is the definitive Snake Eyes. Unless the next hundred they do have some sort of cool unique accessories or parts that I want, I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy one again.
…okay, unless they remake the 91 Snake Eyes. But I think the remakes are over.
But…but…I like the Resolute Snake Eyes! Looks like this one might suppliant the Resolute one as my default. Great looking figure.
I almost passed on getting this since I have so many different versions of him. So glad that I didn’t. Too bad they can’t seem to do such an awesome job on the Storm Shadows that they’ve been releasing
crap.
GOTCHA!
awesome fig. cant wait to get that one it the grubby paws.
Thanks for the review and the great pictures! This Snake Eyes is all kinds of awesome!
“Hell, part of me wishes that if Hasbro were ever to do some “generic” style Joes they use this figure as a base and just do some different colors and webgear to represent a very traditional “real world” military team.”
I agree wholeheartedly–imagine something like the Firefly vs. Greenshirts 5-pack with this body as the base and tons of POC gear!! I’d buy 50 of them!!
I get a VERY strong Sideshow Snake-eyes vibe from this figure and I love it. I have one on the way from Hasbro Toy Shop and I can’t wait to get him. He’ll be my default Snake-eyes from now on.

If it means a new Stalker on this body, then I’m all for it.
I love the figure. While it’s great that Hasbro decided to pack both heads with it, I wouldn’t have been bothered if they’d left out the visor version. As far as I’m concerned, this is THE update for the commando Snake-Eyes. I prefer the v2 style, but this is a perfect take on the original.
And I’ll echo DistantFred’s desire for a new Stalker, preferably in the City Strike category and without the beret. This figure would work very well as a base for that.
I echo the above sentiments. I love love LOVE Resolute SE, but this one is so much more gritty, it’s hard to pick a fave. It’s times like these that I’m frustrated at all the SE’s and wish just they’d make new characters that are equally as cool, though. Like POC Beachhead. To me, he’s way more Shockwave than Beachhead. Why not go that route, Hasbro? City Strike Beach? Make him Shockwave. Desert Assault SE? Make him Kamakura. Especially when you’ve got another SE in line for POC.
Not meant to derail. This is a great figure, no question, and I can just play with him (and the rest) how I want to. 😉
CC- There exists a better option than ‘no beret’ for Stalker- Swappable Beret and Tuque.
Wow! This Snake Eyes is the ultimate! I can’t wait for mine to arrive.
I agree with the criticism about the knee pads, and I also don’t like when a holstered knife rides so high n the webgear. It may accurate to real-life webgear, but to me it looks a bit silly.
That said, I’d happily buy this figure four times over, and I don’t mind the redundancy at all; every cool Snake Eyes works as Snake Eyes and provides custom fodder for new characters.
The knee pads pop off easily, but then you’re left seeing the tiny holes they plug into. In another forum I learned the toy designer stated in an interview they would be removable. I couldn’t find any trace of glue on the pegs so I’m pretty confident I didn’t just break my figure.
My SE’s knife holster swivles so the handle is facing up or down.Does anyone elses do that?
