My initial reaction to the Ice Cutter was one of “meh”…it didn’t do a whole lot for me, and I’m not big on arctic vehicles anyway, but I’m slowly coming around. For some reason it has a very vintage feel, I love the deco, and the way the treads move is pretty unique and cool.
The Snow Serpent is… okay, I guess. Very similar to the Toys “R” Us deco, but with a red parachute pouch instead of blue, he fits in nicely with the Ice Viper Elite’s, that are now unreleased. Still, the Arctic Threat Destro has some nice red elements as well that ties everything together. Updated images from ACToys.net also show off some pretty cool detail like the super-poseable cannon and the awesome frosted windshield. Check out the mirrored images below, and thanks to The Terror Drome for pointing them out!

It’s certainly an odd looking vehicle.
But that Hasbro PoC diorama photograph that was posted here a few weeks back sold me on the vehicle (the nice big high-res one).
Sold!!
Well, so far, anyway!
So far it looks like a nice cold weather battle vehicle that can really tear it up just about anywhere.
I’m more interested in the Ice Cutter after seeing that the rear wheel seems wider than what I’ve seen in previous shots, the wider the better, imo.
“Frosted” windshield looks like a nice touch, the wiper, too. Small stuff that adds without taking away, imo.
That one gun wasn’t pulling me to the vehicle that strongly, but the range of motion is starting to really get me interested in this!
I think this would sit well next to a Wolf (interior compartments!) or Ice Sabre (’91), and easily outclasses the Ice Snake.
That Cobra snowmobile that was out a few years back…did anyone ever get one?
It reminds me of an old He-man vehicle for some reason. Attak Trax?
I am very happy about this one. While it would also look great as a double-wide version of itself, the smaller size is easy to build an army with. Finally COBRA snow troops can have a heated and armored vehicle to ride out the winter 😀
want to know what joeitis looks like? check out the first sentence of this post. 😉
seriously though….it certainly does have a vintage feel to be certain. if i were still 10yrs old, id eat that up. but at 37, theres no way i can own that. at least not until its $2.50 at target.
