I know there aren’t many Sigma 6 fans around, but I’m hoping those of you who don’t like that particular branch of the G.I. Joe mythos will still check out the “Celebration” running here on GeneralsJoes all next week! There will be custom showcases, artwork, images, cartoon information, interviews, etc… just lots of content based on everyone’s (not so) favorite eight inch toyline.
I totally understand why much of the fandom has issues with Sigma 6, but I loved it, and I wanted to take a week to show that even with the larger scale and the animated style, there was still stuff to love about it.
Starting Monday, June 8th, the Sigma 6 Celebration will run all week long (straight through til Sunday, June 13th). Of course there will still be an influx of other news and information for whatever you’re into, but for Sigma 6 fans (or even folks who want to read some interesting stuff, no matter what it’s based on) Monday should hopefully start a fun walk down memory lane. Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome! Thanks for doing this. Bring the Sigma-love! I always felt that it just hit its stride when it got cancelled. I keep a PowerPoint presentation of all the different items that never made it into production (both 8″ and 2.5″)…one can always dream.
I only bought a few so this will be pretty cool to see all the stuff I didn’t buy.
Very cool. I only bought an S6 Storm Shadow, but I was pretty enamored with him and really appreciate the playability that S6 offered. I’m definitely a 3 and 3/4 fan, but I look forward to the Sigma 6 education.
Asmuch as I never bought anything from Sigma Six (general disinterest in both scales coupled with never finding any of the figures that would have sold me on the line- Shockwave, Flint, Lt. Stone), I still really like this showcase week.
A lot of the design work was really, really cool, and I really wish that Hasbro would make 1:18th Ninja Bats, Heavy Bats, or Sigma Cobra Troopers at some point (maybe after the movie?)
The Cobra Troopers in particular would be easy to produce- Wraith’s armour and Scrap-Iron’s head are just about perfect for them.
I’m looking forward to this also…Just the other day I was looking through the archives on the Sigma 6 website you started, Justin. It’s weird to think that was 2 years ago!
Sigma 6 stinks! Who’d like that stuff? Oh wait…
Yeah, I don’t get the Sigma-bashing either. While the main crux of the line consisted of figures in a different scale than the vast majority of my collection I have to admit they were still really well-designed pieces. I own a few and honestly wished that the Collector’s Club had been able to continue the cancelled ‘Adventure Team’ line by releasing that killer Joe Colton and Great Ape set!
Can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned, my friend.
YAY! :shifty:
Most Sigma 6 fans are still too young to be frquenting online forums. Give it another 5-10 years, and they’ll make their voices heard.
I have the very first sigma six there was, I have the original duke Prototype, He is actually about an inch larger than the normal sclae figure, he is fully painted, and elligidly was used for all the promotional stuff trying to get people interested in the line, Id be happy to share pics – email me if your interested
