I am SO excited about this movie. I’m actually really looking forward to the “Delta 6 Accelerator” suits. Now, back to trying to wipe the idiotic grin off my face.
I’m REALLY not impressed. It’s a summer blockbuster kiddie movie, pure & simple. “Resolute” has more depth, intrigue & appears more tactically sound in SPECOPS culture. Did anyone notice the only Joe not wearing and accelerator suit was Snake Eyes? Because ninja’s don’t need accelerator suits; they can skillfully jump from the roof of a fast-moving car to another with ease!!! And yes some of the best SPECOPS soldiers in the world are in their early/mid 20’s. No disrespect to those in their early/mid 20’s of course.
The only two joes wearing the Accelerator suits are Duke and Ripcord. The rest are wearing the standard team costume. Those have a name as well, but it escapes me at the moment. I don’t know anything about this movie so I’m still pretty excited about it. Hopefully my faith in Steven will be rewarded.
I will see the movie and am open to liking it. But… the trailers just make this look like a big budget Street Fighter 2 to me. And the suits… I can’t get past wondering how the would accelerate your reflexes. Running faster and reacting faster aren’t the same thing….
Michael: That’s what the stimpacs are for.
Still not feeling it. I still don’t feel like I’m watching a trailer for a Joe movie. As much as I’m not a fan of Ellis, at least Resolute was closer to the mark. Unless the trailers aren’t showing the good stuff, this movie looks like a giant Epic Fail.
I’ve gotten past the fact that this isn’t the G.I. Joe I grew up with. As much as the idea of Stephen Summers directing this scared the crap out of me I’ve given in to the notion that this will be fun if nothing else. If I want the deep characterization and intricate subplots within subplots I’ll stick to the comics. But for a 2 hour explosion filled action film I’ll give this a chance. I’m really seeing the Sigma 6 influence now and I’m loving it. I think this will be a great mix of the ARAH characters with the new looks of the Sigma 6 figures and the crazy out of this world schemes of the cartoon villains. I think I’ll like it much in the same way I like the Transformers movies. Recognizable characters, same basic story premise and lots of action and explosions with a couple hot chicks thrown in for flavor. Bring it on!
