Prepare to weep with the thought that these figures will now not be available likely until early 2013… HissTank members DarthDre758 and kennywr22 as well as JoeCanuck member Redmao managed to get their hands on some early samples and have provided really nice pictures of these upcoming figures, which will probably make you cry like they made me cry.
Anyone who was complaining about reduced articulation, a lack of detail, and bizarre accessories can stop complaining, because Wave 2 looks like it is prepared to knock the G.I. Joe: Retaliation ball out of the park. Full range of motion, amazing detail throughout these movie-accurate figures, and some really incredible weapons, especially at the small size these are. Very impressive stuff.
While I haven’t been as hard on Wave 1 of the G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures as some, it is easy to tell that some articulation sacrifices were ordered, and the lack of movie reference impacting the overall design of the line. Things look like they really started coming together in Wave 2, though. Both of these figures look stellar. I’m already counting down to early 2013!

I ordered this Roadblock on Ebay a few days ago. IMHO, it looks the best figure on this line. My only complains is about the huge holsters, but since they don´t block any arms posing, all will be fine.
The machine gun is a hard-to-hold weapon from 25th line, but replaceable by the Resolute one.
as long as they dont muck with that snake eyes before he gets released–cant imagine they would–i can be patient.
and as much as i like the rocker ankles, some sort of swivel at the knee or perhaps at the calf (tops of boots would be a great camo’d joint) should be incorporated.
the added range is nice, but the feet always point forward in relation to the shins now.
They totally go cheap on some figs’ articulation and go full monte on others. I would have liked to have seen a general baseline articulation and then add to it for certain characters.
I agree. People talk about the rocker ankles like they’re the pinnacle of articulation, when they’re more of a step sideways from what we had. Personally, I prefer the swivel ankles, but it would be nice to have rockers that swivel.
Roadblock is a Ninja too…what’s that all about? And now the face sculp looks a lot more like The Rock, that’s cool.
Not really interested in any of the first wave, except maybe cobra commander. Hopefully they will sneak in some RAH redo’s like they did with the last movie, otherwise just waiting for the SDCC Jinx and the collectors club exclusives.
That Roadblock figure is definately much better than the Wave 1 version. Too bad it won’t be out until next year. It won’t be a peg warmer, for sure.
Nothing exciting here for me, big pass…
The Wave 1 Roadblock resembles The Rock, but the Wave 2 version looks much more like him, IMHO.
Both those figures are awesome. Especially that Snake Eyes. The head on Roadblock looks like a better likeness too.
That Roadblock is tragic. Those holsters are atrocious and ruin what would be an excellent figure.
I’ll wait and see if there’s a 3-pack version of that SE with a better paint job. The brown just bugs me.
I’m excited to see how the other figures in this wave turn out. I almost have to wonder if the infamously awful gun-kata hands on the wave 1 Roadblock weren’t prototypes of the modular knife/punching dagger/gun/baton seen here.
Loving the Snake Eyes….again…but it’s good to see a little difference in his design for once. A bit armored – that’s cool! Roadblock is cool too, though I may have to get rid of those holsters. Looks like they’ll probably just be attached via leg screw, but we’ll see. Even if they aren’t they won’t be hard to remove.
