I know there has been a lot of Kickstarter talk with both Marauder and Vitruvian HACKS taking over conversation for a good few months, but there is a pretty cool action figure Kickstarter campaign currently going on right now from the folks at Fresh Monkey Fiction.
Fans of action figures in the 80s will no doubt appreciate the cool retro feel of the figures, and they’ve done a great job tapping into the wealth of public domain comic and pulp heroes over the past several years. They’ve got a little ways to go still to reach their goal, but it’s a really neat concept, and I’m going to toss some support their way.
Almost as interesting as the current project, though, is that they have something else on the horizon… something that might just be up a G.I. Joe fan’s alley. Earlier today, the Fresh Monkey Fiction folks Tweeted an image at me:
I questioned them on it a bit, and got the following Tweet in response:
@GeneralsJoes It’s a secret, but if “Forced” I’m sure your “Eagle” eye’d followers might be able to figure it out.

Now that’s certain to catch some attention. What do you think? Check out the Amazing Heroes Kickstarter and then stay tuned, looks like more fun stuff is set to follow it!
Oh damn. I want me some eagle force figs in Joe scale. I can do without the die cast…
Then you’re gonna be real happy in 2015…
Boo yah! Can’t wait to see what you guys have up your sleeve. Certainly a great little line!
That’s great news right there.
Hmmmm, I don’t remember this line as a kid but it looks like the old school defenders of freedom line. This might be interesting. Justin, I assume you will be keeping us up to date on this line? Lol. Hopefully they are as articulated as good as some of the other lines we are getting.
Nice!
I have some of those figures. I never knew what they were from before. I had 2 of the Ninjas.
If I had my druthers – I’d like to see Joe scale with close-to-joe articulation. I like the current KS figures for what they are, but to really integrate with Joe like I think they could, they’d have to be, frankly, better. I was excited about the license, but I really think it’d be a missed opportunity to skimp on the articulation with these.
Oh I think you’ll like these for sure…
Nice! Alright, I’ll start saving up now. I need to see a Kato and Big Bro’ and Beta-Man up against my Quick-Kick, Stalker and Dragonsky, plus eye-patched Captain Eagle and Baron Von Chill – Damnit, man! Bring ’em on!

Good link. Digging some of those unproduced designs like the gangster and drill instructor.
When I was a kid, Lionel Playworld stocked these between the Joes and the off-brand military lines. I remember my friend and I checking out Savitar cause he was a ninja but both of us got a Remco Martial Master instead since it was actually Joe-scale and probably the same price.
When that Lionel Playworld went out of business in the early nineties, the only thing left hanging in that area were a Crystal Ball and a Goldie Hawk. So I bought a Crystal Ball for 75 cents. Shiny gold soldiers are kind of a tough sell no matter the price.
