For over 10 years now, the “Gun Running” experts over at Marauder have been supplying brand new sculpted and tooled weapons for your favorite 1:18 scale gaming figures, action figures, and others… along with those weapons they’ve been building battle stands, and also distributing accessories of many different types. But for the first time in their existence, Marauder is doing something totally new and different.
Introducing, the Marauder “Task Force”.
Yes, you heard me. Marauder is doing FIGURES. Fully modifiable, customizable, and designed by your friends and mine, Boss Fight Studio, Marauder is completely redefining the modern military figure game, and as one might expect, they need our support to do it!
Somehow they managed to sneak this under the radar, but launched today was a Kickstarter for this new Marauder Task Force, which is sure to be a huge hit with G.I. Joe fans and toy fans everywhere. I WILL NOT REST UNTIL THIS IS FUNDED.
Take a look for yourself, and somehow I suspect I won’t need to encourage G.I. Joe fans to do this. It speaks for itself.

Each fully assembled, factory painted, 1:18th scale action figure is produced at a high tech manufacturing facility using modern ABS & PVC materials (NOT handmade “castings” made out of “resin”). We were fortunate to work with the incredibly talented designers and sculptors at Boss Fight Studio on this project. Seriously, the figures need to be seen in person to really appreciate the level of detail (pictures DO NOT do the figures or accessories justice!).
Ultra customizable figs is a genius idea. This might be the future of figs that Joe fans like. It seems like the big manufacturers are increasingly focused on cheaper movie lines with few points of articulation and accessories. Between movies are lean times, even for SW and TF. None of those things appeal to me and make it hard to customize a fig.
I am very curious to see where this goes.
For anyone sitting on the fence on these, MJ’s series 7 Kickstarter project had EXCELLENT items in it ( that you can buy from their site now). Their stuff is top notch, and I have every confidence that these figures will be exceptional.
Yes, they say they’ll be selling these on their site after the Kickstarter, but this is the ground floor opportunity to get involved and help make these a reality.

I agree 110%, Arrow. I had absolutely no hesitation in backing this either, and have full confidence in the ability of Boss Fight and the resources of Marauder to make these SPECTACULAR. I’m extremely fired up to see how far this goes, and am crossing my fingers to see some serious Stretch Goal action.
I’ve shared the info on this with a couple of other Joe-interest sites, that have generally smaller memberships and traffic, with the aim to bring this to the attention of as many as possible.
This just benefits everyone in the hobby because this is VERSATILE new product, from a ( IMO, trusted) small manufacturer.
Like you, this just lit me up with excitement after many weeks feeling humdrum about GIJOE collecting.
As of right now, the tally is showing over 50% raised for the base-line goal…..after just over 12 hrs!
After reading this I was stunned and felt like checking it. So after only 17 1/2 hours we’re 73% there!!! Every minute I go back there’s another backer. I’ll be stoked if this gets funded within 24 hours.
I think the first half of those stretch goals are going to be cake! Which is great cause I want those hats. And that Green dude is just the best!
I just hope they’ll give us some digital mockups of the White, Blue and Red figures. Which has me wondering something. Did I miscount or did they leave one out? They say “with the potential of up to eight different color combinations.” But the initial plan is Grey, Tan and Black. With the stretch goals offering Green, White, Blue and Red. That’s only 7. What’s the other one? Are they counting the blank one? Cause that’s not really a color.
Finally, what’s the post Kick Start cost going to be? The $19 for these first 3 guys or the $15 for the stretch guys? Either way it’s a way better army building price point than the club has been giving us lately.
I pledged within minutes of getting the email. Damn, I am really excited for this! As if their weapons haven’t already always been top notch and now the GR out does even itself! It seems like this thing will be funded within 2 days.

It’s definitely real. Marauder isn’t one of the folks to do that type of stuff.
Fair enough. I’m just a little wary when something THIS AWESOME gets posted on April 1 because it almost seems too good to be true.

Yeah, I’m totally in on this. I just need to gather up a little scratch before the deadline, but that shouldn’t be an issue.
Just a quick note: it appears that the project will met its base goal of $30,000 pledge tonite, a mere 24 hrs after starting! There’s still a full 28 days left to raise pledges for the stretch goals.
That means the basic set sets will be a GO, and all we need to ( granted, the lion’s share of the pledging now) is get the stretch goals met to sweeten an already sweet deal!
BAM!!! That’s so cool! Now we’ve just got to sit around and wait for everyone else to get us that green guy!

Funded! So help me. I haven’t been feeling “Joe” lately, but this strikes a match under me! There’s just something about these. I’m goin’ for the one-of-each level.
Dang, this is cool! In the future I’d like to see less sci-fi armor plating and more combat boots and such, but the plating works well enough for Cobra, especially in that beautiful urban camo. Alley Vipers anyone?
